■文法的根拠を教えてください。

日本語にする際、文法的根拠が分かりません。 There are a few who miss their own countries so much that they became homesickck. このso～tahtとmuchはどのように捕らえて、かつどのように日本語にすればよいですか。教えてください。

muchを badlyやdeeplyに変えてみました。 There are a few who miss their own countries so badly (deeply) that they become homesick. 、、、こうすると、「涙を流すほど望郷する」ということになりますよね。個人的にはこうした方が意味合いがハッキリと強くなって良いのかなと思えますが、もちろんmuchでも良いのでしょう。 この場合のmuchは、miss を修飾して度合いを高めています。つまり、 Some people miss their own countries so much. という簡単な文に、「ホームシックになるほど」という that以下が付いているとシンプルに考えてはいかがでしょう？ 「祖国を望郷するあまり、ホームシックになるほどの人も何人かいる」

There are a few 何人かはいます who miss their own countries so much 自分の故郷を思って、とてもさびしくなる人が that they became homesickck. 彼らはホームシックになりました。 このように考えれば、全体の意味が分かると思います。 訳は他の方がおっしゃってるもので完璧ですね。

こんばんは。 becameはbecomeとして書かせていただきます。 There are a few【who miss their own countries (so) much (that) they become homesick.】 1.先行詞a fewを関係代名詞節【　】が修飾しています。 2.関係代名詞節の中にso…thatの構文があります。 　あまりにも（懐かしく思うために）ホームシックになってしまう 「祖国を恋しく思うばかりにホームシックになってしまうものも少しはいるものだ。」 ※現在形なので一般論を述べています。

自分の国をとても恋しく思うあまり、ホームシックになる人が少数います。 「so much」は「とても」って意味です。so ～ that節ではありません。
