>(2)have made to their cunterparts to stopについて >このmadeは使役動詞でtoがいらない様に感じるのですが必要なのでしょうか? 「making 【the promise that Iran's senior leaders have made to the Iraqi counterparts to stop the training funding arming and directing of organaizations like the special groups】 real」 ○ 「making」の目的語である【 ~ 】が非常に長いので、そのままでは「making」と「real」の関係が分かりにくくなります。 He had called an idiot 【the man on whose judgment he now had to rely】. ※ 本来は「He had called 【 ~ 】 an idiot.」 (1)「that Iran's senior leaders have made to their Iraqi counterparts 」は関係代名詞節です。 「・・・に(ある)約束をする」という意味の「make a promise to ...」の中の「a(the) promise」が先行詞として前に出たので「made / to ...」 (2)「to stop the training, funding, arming and directing of organizations like the special groups」は「the promise」と同格の働きをする「形容詞的用法」の不定詞です。

  • S+V+to 動詞, to 動詞, and to 動詞 の法則??

S+V+to 動詞, to 動詞, and to 動詞 の法則?? I believe that the three most common reasons are to prepare for a career, to have new experiences, and to increase their knowledge of themselves and of the world around them. They can learn to live on their own and take care of themselves without having their family always nearby. They can learn to live on their own AND They take care of themselves They can learn to live on their own AND They can learn to take care of themselves

  • make toとtry toとattempt to

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [UK, adult版] p. 637 上の方の文に関してです。 'Frowning, he made to take the letter from the owl, but before he could do so, three, four, five more owls had fluttered down beside it and were jockeying for position, treading in the butter adn knocking over the salt as each one attempted to give him their letter first.' "he made to take the letter from the owl"の部分の日本語は"ハリーはフクロウから手紙を受取ろうとした。"とあり"made to"を"tried to"や"attempted to"と同じように"~しようとした"と訳しています。 ここでの"made to"は"tried to"や"attempted to"と同じと考えていいのでしょうか? それとも"made to""tried to""attempted to"には何か違いがあるのでしょうか?

The organic chemistry of membrane transport processes and carrier molecules has been developed only rather recently , considering that their physico-chemical features and biological importance have long been recognized. The design and synthesis of receptor molecules binding selectively organic and inorganic substrates has made available a range of compounds that , if made membrane soluble , may become carrier molecules and induce selective transport by rendering membranes permeable to the bound species. Thus , transport represents one of the basic functional features of supramolecular species together with recognition and catalysis. The chemistry of transport systems has three main goals : to design transport effectors , to devise transport processes , and to investigate their applications in chemistry and in biology. Selective membrane permeability may be induced either by carrier molecules or by transmembrane channels.

  • less moisture is available to fall as rain...toの用法は?

(なぜ人間は森林破壊を心配するのか) The losses are difficult to evaluate. However, the loss of tropical forests would have very far-reaching effects both on the countries concerned and on the whole world. The loss to science of animal and plant species in the tropics would be far greater than in temperate regions because of the far greater numbers of species involved. Scientific study of all the innumerable plants and animals in the jungles is still very incomplete and there is much work to be done. There are even more important reasons for some countries to preserve their forests. Trees take in a great deal of water through their roots and release this by transpiration back into the air. This helps to keep the air moist. When forests are removed the air becomes drier, less moisture is available to fall as rain and therefore agriculture suffers. Many savanna regions of the world are being turned into deserts, largely because trees are removed for firewood, or by animals that feed on the grass, and the savanna vegetation cannot survive. It is replaced by desert conditions of no rainfall and almost no vegetation. Large-scale removal of jungles could have the same effect, and thus it is very important that forests should be preserved. (質問)less moisture is available to fall as...
