論理性？
The best way to learn another language is to live among people who speak the language. To be adequately understood, you will have to learn their language adequately. If their language is all you hear every day, you will soon acquire a familiarity with it, even if you are not exactly very good at it. This will be of great benefit to you because you will know two cultures. The greatest benefit, however, will be the insight which it will give you into your own culture. You will be able to look at foreign costoms and traditions, politics, art, and music, in a new light and with a greater depth of understanding. This is an effective and effortless way to study other civikizations. 上の英文の第二パラグラフの文章が最初に「自身の文化に対する見識」と書いているのにそのあとの文はどうしてほかの話題に飛んでいるのですか？ 第二パラグラフの訳は 「しかし、最大の利益は、ほかの言語の習得がもたらしてくれる、自分自身の文化に対する見識だろう。あなたは、外国の風習や伝統、政治、美術、そして音楽を、新しい観点と、より深い理解を持って眺めることができるようになるのである。これは、効果的かつ労力をかけずに、ほかの文明を学ぶひとつの方法であろう。」 となっています。

最近長い文章を気合を入れて読みことのなくなった私メ ちょっと全訳しないと説明できません。 「外国語を学ぶ最良の方法はその言語話す人達の間で生活することである。充分に理解してもらう為には充分にその言語を学ばなければならないだろう。彼らの話す言葉を毎日聞けばすぐになれて習得することだろう。たとえとても上手にはならなくても。これはとてもあなたにとっては得なことだ。二つの文化を知ることになるのだから。しかしながら 最大の利益はあなた自身の教養にもたらされる洞察であろう。あなたは緒外国の習慣 伝統 政治 芸術 そして音楽を新たな観点でより深い観点で見ることが出来るだろう。これは効果的かつ努力の要らない他の文明の学び方である。」 なんだか私の中ではつながってしまうのですが 御質問者様はどこが飛んでいると思われているのでしょうか。 「外国語の習得により自国の文化のみならずその国の文化も知ることになり その教養によってその他の国々の色々な文化を見ても 今までと違った視点でそれらを見ることが出来 深い理解を示すことができるようになる」というこではないでしょうか。 論理的だと思いますし 私もこの意見には賛成ですが。

回答どうもありがとうございます。 なるほど、your own cultureを「あなた自身の教養」と訳せば意味はとおりそうですが、その前文でculturesを「文化」と訳したのだからここでも「あなた自身の文化」つまり「自国の文化」と訳すのではないでしょうか？？ そうすると次の文は「”自国”の風習や伝統、政治、美術、そして音楽を、新しい観点と、より深い理解を持って眺めることができるようになるのである。」となるほうが自然な気がしますが、どうして”外国”に飛んでいるのでしょうか？

「自身の文化に対する見識」を身に付けることによって、 「新しい観点」と「深い理解」を持って外国の風習や～を眺めることが できるようになる。 という意味ではないでしょうか？

回答どうもありがとうございます。 確かに日本語訳を「自身の、文化に対する見識」とみると意味がとおっているように見えますが、「自身の文化、に対する見識」つまり「自国の文化に対する見識」とみるとおかしくないですか？？ insight into your own cultureだから訳は「自国の文化に対する見識」だと思います。 なのでそのあとの文は「”自国”の風習や伝統、政治、美術、そして音楽を、新しい観点と、より深い理解を持って眺めることができるようになるのである。」となる方が自然な気がしますが、どうして”外国”に飛んだのでしょうか？

Furthermore, children in an elementary school already have many subjects to study, so it is not able to be thought of as a wise selection to made children have more burden. For these reasons, I emphasize that children should study their own language deeply insted of learnig foreign languages.
