自分なりに訳してみました。些細なことでも構いません。添削お願いします。 And I think people have been tired of the old gray, staid party bosses of the past. そして、私は人々が年をとった古臭い、固定した以前の党首達にあきていたと思います。 This gives them hope that maybe Japan can make up for the last ten years of economic stagnation and have a bright future. これは、彼らに多分、日本が不景気の最後の10年をきちんと整えることができて、明るい将来を持つことができるだろうという望みを与えます。

意味はしっかり掴んでおられます。努力されておられる成果がきちんと現れているとおもいます。 あとは、日本語を磨かれると良いと思いました。 どこまで意訳が許されるかにもよりますが、「旧態依然とした、旧弊な党首脳陣に飽き飽きしていた」とか、「過去十年間の景気停滞から脱却し、明るい未来を期待出来るようになるかもしれないという希望を与える」とか。御参考となれば幸甚です。

全体の意味は理解されていると思いました。 気になった二点について書きます。 １．「不景気の最後の１０年」 これだと、例えば不景気が１５年くらいあり、そのうちの終わりの １０年、という意味かな、という誤解を招くのでは？ 「景気停滞のこの１０年」という意味だと思います。 ２．「きちんと整える」 上記の１０年に関しては、近年よく耳にする ”失われた１０年” という言葉が頭に浮かびました make up for は、この空白を「埋め合わせる」という ニュアンスのように私は読みました。 後半の文は、 このことで、景気が低迷した過去１０年間の空白が埋まり、明るい未来が日本に来そうだ、という希望がもたらされる。 という意味なのだと思います。 日本語訳に際しては、前後の関係が分からないと、微妙なニュアンスを表現するのは難しいです。This や them が何を意味するか分からないですし。 前後の文脈から、こなれた日本語にして下さい。

用語だけ説明させていただきますと、 tiredは、「うんざりした」と訳すことも可能です。 make up for～は、「～を取り戻す」「～を埋め合わせる」という意味です。 the last～は、「現在からみてそのすぐ前の」という意味で、「直近の過去10年間」という意味です。 全体では、「景気停滞にあえいだ(直近の)過去10年間を取り戻す」になります。

I have a background in food service, about ten years worth of experience bartending and waiting tables. about ten years worth of experienceのworthは具体的な意味があるのでしょうか。もし「10年の価値のある経験」という意味なら、「実際には10年の経験はしていないがその価値がある」という意味と考えてよいのでしょうか。それともあまり意味はないのでしょうか。 それからbartending and waiting tablesの二つのing動詞は現在分詞でexperienceを形容していると考えてよいのでしょうか。
