和訳の添削をお願いします。

はじめまして。 この文章中にある「more than ～」は、その後の動詞にかかって「十分すぎるほどに～；～どころではない」という意味で使われているようです。 さらに動詞にかかる強調の「do」もありますね。 このあたりの意味合いを汲み取って、dartymac さんは「より～」という表現に込めたのだろうと思います。 せっかくなのでもう少し意訳してみてはどうでしょうか。 たとえば次のように。 「～を確認するどころではない」 ⇒「社会的メカニズムそれ自体が～を承認（or 証明、確認）している」 また、この際「メカニズム」も「構造」くらいに訳してしまった方が適当かと思います。

What could be more important than to do ～.ような文のcouldは仮定法のcould ですか？ whatとあるので「何ならばより重要となるか」と考えていいですか。

At last 以降の部分を自分なりに 「しかし遂に今、私達は人間を理解することにおける最後の未開拓地であるかもしれないとされているものに取り掛かるだけの十分な知識を手にしている。」 と訳してみたのですが、特に[might possibly be regarded as] の部分はこの訳し方で正しいのでしょうか？ また、ほかの部分でもミスがあると思うので教えてください。
