レシピを訳すという課題なのですが・・・
英語名でRed Gritzと言う料理のレシピなのですが、少しひっかかるところがあるので質問します。 Use vanilla pudding mixture to ticken the juice and add one splash of lemon juice. この文章で言うvanilla pudding mixtureとは、プリンの素(もと)とかいったものなのでしょうか？ そして、そのレシピの後にレシピを書いた人のコメントがあるのですが、その中に The red color alluded to the GDR background, and the fruit pudding was mentioned several times in our home guestbook. と言う一文があり、GDR backgroundと言う単語がまったく分からず、guestbookと言う単語にも悩まされています。 以上ふたつなのですがよろしくお願いします。

デザート作りのレシピですね。 ＞Use vanilla pudding mixture to ticken the juice and add one splash of lemon juice. ticken は thicken(濃くする、濃度をつける、とろとろにする)の間違いではないでしょうか。また、発音上、ほぼ同じに聞こえるのでありそうに思います。Useですからvanilla pudding mixtureは 「puddingを最初から小麦粉、コーンスターチ、ミルクから作ったものにバニラエッセンスを加えたものを混ぜたもの」という意味かもしれませんが、僕はvanilla pudding mixture/mix「バニラ味のプリンの素」という粉のようなものだと思っています。それで →「ジュースに濃度をつけるためにバニラ味のプリンの素を使いましょう。そして、レモンの絞り汁を少々。」 ＞The red color alluded to the GDR background, and the fruit pudding was mentioned several times in our home guestbook GDR：ドイツ民主主義共和国(German Democratic Republic ) guestbook：ホテルやレストランの「宿帳/利用者名簿」ですが著者はホテルかレストランか何かのシェフでしょか。 →「その赤い色はドイツの雰囲気をにおわせ、感じさせ、私どものゲストブックには何回かそのフルーツプディングについての記述、言及がありました。(評判が良かった)」 だいたいこういう意味だと思いました。

GDR background の部分ですが、ＧＤＲ，すなわちドイツ民主共和国はドイツがひとつになる前の東ドイツの方ですから、ソ連と同じ共産党、つまり「赤」の色で代表される国なわけです。 それで、「赤い色は東ドイツのイメージをほのめかせるもので」くらいの意味で使われているのではないでしょうか。 もちろん、このレシピが書かれたのはドイツが統合する前ということでしょう。

Today we will make a salad with ingredients which are not usually mixed together-cress, avocado and potatoes . I t`s simple and it tastes great, I will take you through each step. Y ou`re going to need potatoes,avocados,cress,olive oil, lemons,salt and pepper. After cooking the potatoes in salted boiling water unitil they`re very tender , you drain them and leave them in the pot. Add salt and pepper. The potatoes will get their flavor from being mixed with the oil, I love olive oil and use it in many of my dishes. After the olive oil, put in the lemon. You can squeeze the lemon with your hands and catch the seeds inn your fingers. You don`t need special things in your kitchen to make delicious food. You just need a spirit of adven-ture! Peel and slice the avocados lengthways and add them to the potatoes. The avocados won`t turn brown because the lemon juice will protect them. Next we are going to add the cress. Have you tried cress? 昨年のNHKラジオ基礎英語2の8月号の英語について タイトルの教材で英語を勉強しています。 その中に書いていた英語について質問があります。 【質問1】 一問一答のような感じでMCの2人の話が続いていくのですが、 ここで次のような会話がありました。 A:OK then, what's your favorite dessert? B:In america, my mother made apple pie. I loved to eat it warm with vanilla ice cream. となっておりました。 しかし、warmの位置が何故あの場所に来るのかがわかりません。 今までこのような位置にwarmが来るのは見たことがありませんでした。 「バニラアイスと暖かいアップルパイを一緒に食べるのが好き。」という日本語訳は思いつくのですが、 どこかこのような位置にwarmなどの単語が来ることを説明しているサイトなどはないでしょうか？ 【質問2】 A:Why did you come to Japan?
