よろしくお願いします。 タイトルの A stroke of brilliance はどのような日本語に訳せますでしょうか？ （ひらめいた！）って感じですかね。 "A stroke of brilliance I would not have thought possible from you, また、英語圏では、口語で使う言葉でしょうか。 あるいは、ほとんど文章中にしか出てこない表現なのでしょうか。

No.2は全面的に間違えました。 A stroke of brillianceの入る場所は、 I would not have thought a stroke of brilliance possible from you, ですね。全体で仮定法でIf以下の条件部分はないですが、 （なんかとんでもないことがなかったならば）君からこんなa stroke of brillianceがでてくるなんて思いもしなかっただろう。という意味で、 つまり、君が思いもかけないほどすごいことをやったので、君の中にこんなすごいこと（a stroke of brilliance）があるなんて！と言う驚きを二重否定で強調しているのですね。 威光の一端とか、すごい才能の片鱗とかそういうことでしょう。 失礼しました。

ハリーポッターですか？ A stroke of brillianceはこの場合名詞で使われてますね。 「きみからは想像もつかなかった、天才的なひらめきだな」 という感じでしょうか。 strokeは、「一撃」 brillianceは、「才気」とか、まぁgenius的な意味ですね。

お世話になります。 下記の文について If you took a trip to beijing in the past couple of days, you would not have liked what you saw. （北京を訪れたのなら、この数日間に、きっと好ましくない光景を目にしたことだろう） If you took a trip to bejing...、は, If you had taken a trip to beijing と仮定法過去完了になるべきではないのでしょうか。 もしくは、 you would not have liked what you saw を you would not like what you saw と仮定法過去になるのかなと思ったりもします。 nativeが話しているセリフでしたので、口語的にこういう言い回しもあるのか、単なる本人の間違いなのかがよくわかりません。。。 時制の感覚が混ざってしまい、混乱しております。ご説明していただけると大変うれしいです。 どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

TEDの文章からです。 Clearly, the professors did not have as high of an opinion of my work as I did. の as high of an opinion の of は、なんでしょうか？ have a high opinion of ～ ： ～を高く評価する に as をつけて、 have as high a opinion of ～ という語順になるだけだったら分かるような気がするのですが、 of が highのあとにある理由がよくわかりません。 もとの理解から間違えているのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。
