本日は冠詞、不定詞のto、関係代名詞・名詞節のthatなどの省略についてお伺いします。私自身これまで多数の医学英語原著論文を書いてきておりますが、省略については迷うことがあります。重複するのはきっとnon-nativeらしい長ったらしい文章と思われていると思いつつ、なるべく省略は避けております。一方、nativeに添削してもらうと明らかに文法的に省略しても良いと思われる場合でも省略しなかったり、大胆な省略なども時として見受けます。下記に少し疑問を記述します。
(冠詞)
(a) …regardless of race, color, creed, national origin
英国滞在中見かけた文章ですが、この場合creedはロングマンの英英辞典などで調べてもcountable nounです。どうしても冠詞が必要に思えてしまうのですが、概念として捉えていると思われ、公式文章でも冠詞はありません。結構この手の公式文章を見てきました。このように連続して名詞が並列に並ぶ場合、countable nounでも冠詞は入れない方が良いのでしょうか？それともあくまでも概念が大事で、creedという単語は抽象名詞として考えた方が無難なのでしょうか？正直もし後者の場合でしたら辞書にuncountable nounの用法も記載して欲しいと思ってしまいます。
(b) ….the stage as well as grade of cancer
等位接続詞andなどで名詞を並列させる場合誤解のおそれがなければ、２人を指す場合でも後の冠詞は省略可と辞書に書いてあるのを確認しました (a doctor and patient)。ただ私は基本この場合省略はしません ( a doctor and a patient)。迷うのは疑似等位接続詞であるas well asに並列させる場合の冠詞で、上記はある論文からの引用ですが、gradeの前にtheが必要に思えてしまいます。個人的には迷った場合、冠詞は入れておけば文法的に間違いはないと思い入れてしまいます。Nativeから見たらまどろっこしい文章と思われているのかも知れないというジレンマを感じながら文章を書いております。
（不定詞のto、関係代名詞・名詞節のthat）

例えば、
He is the greatest surgeon that Japan has ever produced.
というように、先行詞に制限的意味の強い形容詞がつく場合who, whichよりthatの方が相応しいと習いました。このような場合関係代名詞は省略しない方が良いのでしょうか？
さらに、

この場合関係代名詞は主格である為省略できません。挿入句を入れた場合（例えばyou thinkなど）

関係代名詞は主格であるにも関わらず省略されている場合を見かけます。この場合関係代名詞が主格であるか目的格であるかというよりも、関係代名詞の後に名詞句があるかどうかが重要な気がしております（文法で習った覚えはありません）。
小生は英国に長期滞在し、文法も興味を持って学習しておりますが、nativeに添削されると“どうして？”と思う事があり、non-nativeの壁を感じる時があります。

(1)notで始まっているため倒置だと思われるのですが、本文は倒置の受動態なのでしょうか（were fished）
(2)threatenedが過去形なら、concernが名詞であろうが動詞であろうが構成がおかしくなると思われるので過去分詞による修飾（脅かされた種と保護地区）だと思われます。
しかしconcern（動詞）の後ろのthat節に主語がありません。
thatが関係代名詞=concernは名詞になり訳がわかりません。
(3)末端の部分はwereが動詞ですが、ではtargetsが主語なのでしょうか？ここも倒置ですか？
