もう一番さんの正道を行くご回答がありますので、これは僕のような怠け者の裏道です。 １。英訳 これは聖書の数ある英訳のうち、聖公会などで使われている1611年のジェームズ王の時の翻訳 Authorized Version 日本語で「欽定訳」のマタイ伝第25章29節です。 World English Bible では下記のように平易な英文になっています。 For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away. https://biblehub.com/kjv/matthew/25-29.htm ２。日本語訳 29 おおよそ、持っている人は与えられて、いよいよ豊かになるが、持っていない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう。 ３。ちなみに，この内容を平易な英文で書くとどのようになるのでしょうか？ ２は一例です。 ４。また，そもそもなぜこのような(少なくとも私にとっては...)難しい表現をしているのでしょうか？ 宗教関係の書物は、神主さんの「祝詞」や、お坊さんのサンスクリット語の漢訳の棒読みのように、わかりにくいほどありがたく聞こえるからでしょう。

(No.B11) For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given. そこで質問ですが、No.11の冒頭の"For"は、前段の"upon them hath the light shined."を受けて、「何となれば(since,as)」という意味なのでしょうか？ 和訳で、"For"を敢えて訳さずに「ひとりのみどりごがわたしたちのために生まれた、ひとりのみどりごがわたしたちに与えられた」となっています。
