has been preloaded がよくないのは現在完了自体がよくないというのでなく、 受動態だと文法的に成り立たないから。 なるほど、information が不可算で無冠詞なので、 information が preload の目的語なのか、 分詞＋名詞となって、has は単に「持っている」なのか、 見かけ上、区別できません。 現在完了自体、have O 過去分詞の過去分詞が述語として出世したものなので、 構造上、そういう運命にあります。 後は、述語として「持っている」か、「あらかじめインストールした」なのか、どちらがいいのか。 いみじくも The bookstore has a lot of books. という例を挙げたように、 前者、という気がしなくもありませんが、読んだ感覚としては後者の方がしっくりきます。 preloaded information というのが唐突で、 述語として「情報を組み込んだ」の方が自然かと。

2008年の一橋大学の問題文の一部です。 It has been only a few hundred years that we've known that we are mammals, and only a few decades that we've understood in considerable detail how we have evolved, along with all other living things, from simple beginnings. 上の文のItとthatの役割がつかめません 最初は時を表す訳出しないItだと考えました。 しかし、 It has been 3 years since I saw her last. のような文ならわかるのですが、 問題文だとthatになっているので、 thatの役割が分かりません。 次に、分裂文の可能性を考えましたが、 それだと、 only a few hundred years と only a few decades が today や yesterday のような単語と同じ様に、名詞の副詞用法をしていることになります。 これが、 The couple married only two weeks after they had got aquainted. のような文であれば、 only two weeks が名詞の副詞用法としてafter節を修飾していると分かるのですが、 上の文だと、only a few hundred years と only a few decadesを副詞用法で働く名詞とすると、何を修飾するのかが分からなくなります。 上の文のItとthatの役割を教えてください。

次の英文のwhichがit is・・・whichの強調構文であり、関係代名詞ではない理由を教えてください。 It is the decline of active play and the enormous growth of purely receptive entertainment which has given to a sociological interest in the problem. it is which をとっても意味がなりたつので強調構文である という説明には納得なのですが、which 以下が entertainment を修飾する関係代名詞 として訳すことも可能かと思います。 （文法的にも問題ないと思いますが、正しいでしょうか？） 関係代名詞の考え方もありえる場合、強調構文か関係代名詞かの見分け方は最終的には文脈から判断するということになるのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

OS X 10.7.5を使用しています。いつからか分かりませんが、以下の様なエラーがSafari起動時に出ます。 Safari 6.0.5 (v7536.30.1) has not been tested with the plugin LastPass 1.73.0 (v1.73.0). As a precaution, it has not been loaded. Please contact the plugin developer for further information. OKボタンを押してダイアログを閉じれば普通にSafariは使えるのですが、やはり、面倒ですし、気分も良くありません。上のメッセージにある、“LastPass”というのを使った事はあると思うのですが、今は使っていません。この“LastPass”を消せばいいのか？ と思ったのですが、何処に入っているか分かりません。Spotlightで探しても、プラグインそのものは見つかりませんでした。よろしくお願いします。

英文が理解できないので教えてください。 Carol has a strong sales background, but I think your people are very used to your way of doing things. What's it been, five years? You've had a strong influence on them. これの [What's it been] の意味が理解できませんでした。 全体的な流れは把握できます。 なんというか、 非常に漠然とした意味なら理解できます。 しかし、 それは [What's it been] をむししているだけなんです。 私は [What's it been] を辞書、 文法書、 インターネット、 で調査しましたが、 どこにも記述されていませんでした。 もしかしたら、 日本語の [ええと、] [ほら、 あれ] のような [意味のない相槌] のようなものかもしれません。 しかし、 正式な英語教材に、 そのような無意味な相槌が記述されるとも思えません。 ギブアップして質問させていただきます。 [What's it been] の意味を教えてください。 また、 できれば、 私が [What's it been] の意味を自力で調査するには、 どうすれば良かったのかも教えてください。 インターネットの検索方法が へたなだけかもしれません。 よろしく お願い致します。
