Life isn't like a box of chocolates anymore
- Life is unpredictable and full of surprises. Just like a delicious tart, sometimes we end up making a mess of it, but if we flip our situation over, we may realize that it's actually pretty damn good.
- In the 1880s, chef Stephanie Tatin accidentally created the tarte Tatin by reversing an apple tart. Life is like that too, we might think we know what we're gonna get, but end up making a mess of it. However, just like Stephanie Tatin, all we need to do is flip our situation over and find the unexpected goodness in it.
- Life is not always what we expect it to be, but that's what makes it interesting. Like a tarte Tatin, sometimes we need to flip our situation over to truly appreciate its deliciousness. So when life gives you a mess, remember to turn it upside down and find the beauty within.

Even though it's February , I still have an excess of edible Christmas and New Year's treats to finish. As I worked my way through yet another box of assorted chocolates , I couldn't help but be reminded of a line from the movie Forrest Gump:“Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.” And it made me wonder if this is still true for modern life. These days , you'd be hard-pressed to find a box of shareable goodies without some kind of guide. My box of chocolates came with a bilingual description of each finely sculpted chocolate , detailing in evocative language what filling lay within each glossy shape. Don't like caramel? Even if it's “a masterful creation”? Then avoid these ones. Like praline? Then choose those ones. With chocolates these days , you actually do know what you're gonna get. Sometimes l wish that life really was like a box of 21st-century,chocolates. It'd be nice to have all of life's choices land out neatly in front of me , with a guide telling me what to expect from each one. With consumerism and the Internet making more choice available to more people ,it's becoming ingrained in us to find out as much as we can about something before making a decision. In a way , our desire to know exactly what we're getting has resulted in a sort of stalkerish behavior when it comes to many things in life. Who hasn't tried to find out all they can about a new friend or potential date once they've connected with them on Facebook? Or feverishly looked up the menu of a restaurant they're going to in order to decide what they'll have before they even step foot in the establishment? It's understandable that we do these things in order to avoid being disappointed or inconvenienced. But I'm curious to know if having all this information at our fingertips is degrading our ability to trust our instincts. Having too much information or choice can also lead to decision fatigue , resulting in poor decision making. Or analysis paralysis--where you overthink everything , stress yourself out and in the end , make no decision at all. Life certainly isn't quite like Forrest Gump's box Of chocolates anymore. We might know what we're going to get, but we might not like it anyway. Sadly, it will not be just to raise money for governments, but to force people to live more reasonable, ecological lives. The only way to get people to cooperate might be to hit them hard in a place that hurts: Their pocketbooks and wallets.

Smokers I spoke to thought plain packaging might deter the young, but not them. I suppose the kids and that, they look at bright packaging and they think, you know, wow, this looks alright, but plain packaging, you know, I don't think it'd make a difference to me smoking at all. You held the same beliefs but may have been on different sides of divided city, or like being on different sides in war, or an apartide state, if you see what I mean, not allowed to fraternize, or risking dire consequences if you did. But risking it anyway, both because of the love you had, the passion, the lust, and also because of the karmic task, the things you believed in that also went against the grain of the prevailing time. I cannot tell where this was or put a date on it, b jut it may have been a theme or pattern that has repeated through several life time.

The best I could do is give you list of our other dealers in the San Francisco area (see link below), but it would still take 8-12 wks to get to the US. You might want to contact our main office in Germany, so that you could check the possibility of going through a dealer there and having it exported from Germany.
