a few years を 「２、３年」 と解釈すると分らなくなります。「数十年」 ということになるかもしれませんが、私は 「時代を先取りしていた」 という意味で用いられているのではないかという気がします。

回答ありがとうございます。 確かに４０年も前に”タブレット”を登場させていたのは、すごい先見性ですよね（本人の案かは不明ですが）。ということは・・・、bakanskyさんのニュアンスで良いように思えてきました。

英英辞典での『cite』の意味として、 ・to mention in support , proof , confirmation ； refer to as an example ： He cited many instances of abuse of power. というのが載っておりました。 http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cite 私は『in』を「中で」「途中で」などのニュアンスで理解しているのですが、 ここでの『in』がどのような意味で使われているのかがよく分かりません。 意味もよく取れません。 むしろ『as』などの方が適当なのではないかと思うのですが。 「in support」「in proof」「in confirmation」になぜ『in』を用いるのかを 暗記ではなく、何とか説明・理解する方法などないでしょうか？ よろしくお願い致します。
