They are either retarding in their effects, （producing concretion, crystallization and a holding back or on to that which is old and of the past,） or they stimulate and produce fluidity, enlargement and expansion. retardingの目的語が（producng～）です。 retardは他動詞なので目的語が必要。 ここを間違えると意味が逆になります。 それらは（凝固、結晶化、固執……）を妨げ、 or もしくは それらは流動性、拡大、拡張を促し、うみます。 ちなみに １、concretion, ２、crystallization and ３、a holding ～ はproducingの目的語で、似た意味三兄弟です。 ところで they って何をさすの？
