Great-dayです。 アメリカに住んでいますが、これらの単語としての意味ではなく単語のもつフィーリングと言う視点から見ればおわかりになると思いますので書かせてもらいますね。 experienceとは経験、つまり外から来た一種の付属品ですね。 しかし、opinionとは意見、つまり、自分の中で作り上げられたもの、つまりからだの一部なわけです。 これを踏まえて学校で習ったmade ofと言う熟語を覚えているでしょうか、 This table is made of Japanese Cherry. テーブルはサクラの木材でできているわけですね。 サクラの木で作り上げられた物なのです。 man of the opion thatもこのofなのです。 しかし、withと言う単語は外からくっついた、と言うフィーリングを持つ単語ですね。 This door is with a special lock.と言う使い方です。 外からの経験がくっついた人ということで、a man with a lot of experience.と言う表現が当然なわけです。経験が豊富な人、と言うことですね。 これらを一緒に理解すると、じゃ、a man of experienceと言う言い方もできるはずじゃないか、と言うことにもなります。 もちろんそうなります。 しかし、フィーリングが違ってくるのです。 ofは中で作り上げた物、と言う表現をしましたね。a man of experienceと言う事は、経験が既に経験ではなくその人を作り上げる物になってしまっている、と言う事になるわけです。 ですから、日本語訳にすると熟練者、と言うような訳になるわけです。 単なる「経験が豊富な人」、ではないわけです。 これでいかがでしょうか。 分かりにくい点がありましたら、補足質問してください。

In my opinion, the symbol of this story is drawing. The husband and Blind man help each other to make a drawing cathedral, which build a good relationship between them.In my opinion, the author wants to convey the importance of feeling instead of just seeing.

spendの使い方について質問です。 spendといえば、spend 時間 (in) ~ing という使い方がありますが、問題集の中に He spent a lot of years to realize this project. という文が出てきました。 副詞的用法の目的で、「その企画を実現させるために、何年も費やした。」かな？と思ったのですが、 それなら他の文でもto不定詞を使っていいのでは？と考えてしまいました。（to不定詞を選ぶと不正解になるのに） He spent three hours cleaning the room. などとrealizeという動詞の性質が違うからでしょうか？ ご意見いただけると幸いです。

添付ファイル文章にある our deification of the man makes a point to pretend he wasn't a politician. に関する質問です。 この文章を適切に理解できているか見ていただきたいです。 「その男に対する我々の神格化は、彼が政治家でなかったというようなふりをする主張である。」 to pretend he wasn't a politicianの to+不定詞の用法が気になります。 副詞的用法でなく、形容詞的用法で合っているでしょうか？ その場合、 名詞の内容説明をする役割として使われていると理解してあっているでしょうか？ 解説宜しくお願いします。

TEDの文章からです。 Clearly, the professors did not have as high of an opinion of my work as I did. の as high of an opinion の of は、なんでしょうか？ have a high opinion of ～ ： ～を高く評価する に as をつけて、 have as high a opinion of ～ という語順になるだけだったら分かるような気がするのですが、 of が highのあとにある理由がよくわかりません。 もとの理解から間違えているのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

非常に分かりやすい説明でした！まったく疑問の余地がありません！ ただ実はどちらかというとaccording toの方がわかりにくかったんです。ご説明いただいたことはそれなりに理解していたつもりですが、according toに関してはなぜ○×の差が起こるのかわかりません。辞書には「（第三者などの権威）～によって」と書いていましたが、ここでは私（一人称）の「意見」か「経験」の差でどちらも当てはまりませんし... 二度手間をかけてしまい本当に申し訳ありませんがよろしくお願いします！
