こんばんは ＞それとも”put … on to boil”で「茹でたままにしていた」でしょうか？ 上記のセットで一つですね。 しかし、「茹でたままにしていた」は間違いです。 "put two eggs on to boil"は、 "put two eggs on (the hob) to boil"の意味となります。 "put on to boil"は「茹で始める/煮立たせる」と言う意味。「茹でたままにしていた」なら"left on to boil"になります。 他にも料理スラングでは似たようなフレーズがあります。 「reduce the soup to a simmer」（スープを弱火にする） 「Leave to cool」（置いて冷ます） つなげることも可能で以下のようになります。 「Put two eggs on to boil, reduce heat to a simmer, after 10 min take off heat and leave to cool」 （卵を二つ煮立たせて、弱火にして、10分後火を消して置いて冷まします。） ご参考までに。
