こんにちは。 Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix [UK, adult版], p.522 真ん中あたりの文に関してです。 ダンブルドアが、マクゴナガル先生にアンブリッジ先生を足止めするように頼んでいます。 p.522 'Professor Umbridge must know you're out of your beds ... Minerva, go and head her off - tell her any story -' 日本語訳では "アンブリッジ先生が、君たちがベッドを抜け出したことに気付いたに違いない・・・ミネルバ、行って足止めしてくだされー適当な作り話でもしてー" とあるのですが、head her offはなぜ足止めするという訳になるのでしょうか？ head one's offで調べてみたのですが、相当する訳が出てきませんでした。 意訳でしょうか？ 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

call homeという言葉の意味が分かりません。 TOEICの公式問題集に、 The story of a young flight attendant who travels the world looking for a new city to call home. 新たなる安らぎの街を求めて世界中を旅する若きフライアテンダント・・・ とありました。 また、Alice in Chainsのnutshellという曲の中でも、 no place to call home : 帰る場所が無い のような意味で用いられていたように記憶しています。 call homeで調べてみても良く分かりませんでした。 アドバイスを頂けないでしょうか？ 宜しくお願いします。
