ソフトが使えない

あるソフトを立ちあげようとすると Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library Debug Assertion Failed!(プログラム名) For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts. (Press Retry to debug the application) と言うメッセージがでてソフトが使えません。 これは、何のことでしょうか。 使えるようになるのですか。

comctl32.dllが入れ替わってしまい、 バージョンがずれているのでは？ （参考URLを参照してね） この場合、 「Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library・・・」 が表示されるときがあるようです。 http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ieplatform/ie/comctrlx86.asp ここから、 Download 50comupd.exe (x86) をダウンロードして、インストールしてみてはどうでしょうか。

ご回答ありがとうございます。 comctl32.dllのバージョンは 5.81 です。 Download 50comupd.exe (x86)をインストールしようとす ると「既に最新版が入っている」のメッセージがでますの で comctl32.dllがらみではないようです。 [あるソフト]は当方の環境上で動作するとなっていますの で作者に質問メールを出しているのですが、返答がないの でこの場で解決できれば、と思っています。
