Server Application Error(WINDOWS XP)

WindowsXP SP2のマシンにてIIS5.1をインストールしたのですが、 ＨＴＭＬファイルは参照できるものの、 ＡＳＰファイルは参照できない状態です。 存在しないＡＳＰファイルを参照しようとするとHTTP 404エラーが出るので、 権限かなにかが原因かと思っているのですが、 昨日１日調べましたが解決できませんでした。 ご指導のほど、よろしくお願いいたします。 エラー内容 Server Application Error The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance. イベントログ なし

アドバイスありがとうございます。 前者2点についてはベントログが出力されていないので別の現象だと思われます。 後者2点については頑張って呼んでみますが、たぶん理解できそうにありません・・・
