Don't ignore it or ask the bride to pass on your regrets. 　私の言いたいのはこういうことです、招待状が届いたら、それに返事を出しなさい。欠席するのなら、そのことをはっきりと花嫁に伝えなさい。 pass on one's regrets の regrets は、下記の辞書に記されているように、複数形で 　a note politely declining an invitation　（招待への丁寧な断り） を意味します。
