I ask this however if there is no nuance, that's perfectly okay. ⇒そうですね、「延べ」とは、「1日1日と数えると、全部で21日もの長きにわたって」というニュアンスです。「合計」でもいいですが、少なくとも語順は変えて、「21日」の前に置く方がいいでしょう。 ＞"such interrogations" here means 上記の取調べ but adds a sarcastic feeling to it. 'the all-important interrogations'. Or at least that's the feeling, so I don't know if の類 is correct or not. 回答してくれてありがとう！ 「要するに」は良いですね イタリック体をつかうつもりはないです。でもたまに強調を付けるためにそういう工夫をします。 「引用」ですか？ なんの引用ですか 作者は私です。 [emphasis added]の意味は引用ではないです。ただ「強調追加」です。それか重要点など。。。

態々。。。こまごま as in, 'went through all the trouble' わざわざ、そこまでやりました 大切な取調べは皮肉です。 日本語に皮肉はあまり使わないですよね。
