A few months later, however, Hera appeared at our door, asked my stepdaughter if my husband was at home, and said she wanted to return a book she'd borrowed. My stepdaughter told her to scram. she'd borrowedのところはなぜ過去完了なのでしょうか?

Yesterday, my boss asked to see me and told me that she'd gotten some feedback from people in the lab. she'd gottenが過去完了なのは、told meの前のことだからという理解で良いでしょうか?

I would like for my husband and me to give my daughter, his stepdaughter, a lump sum toward a house down payment.

  • talked right over us

My husband's sister came to visit us recently. From the minute she came in the door, she talked, nonstop, for an hour and 45 minutes. She talked about her life, complained about her husband, talked about her adult children and on and on. She never once asked how we were or what we were up to. The few times my husband or I tried to talk, she talked right over us. she talked right over usはどのような意味でしょうか?

  • too far along

My daughter left her husband, and now wants to abort what had been a wanted pregnancy. She is too far along to terminate in our state, but she could get it done elsewhere. She is too far along to terminateはどのような意味でしょうか?

1.Some students performed the dance. 2.The woman asked me to open the door. 3.My mother told me to clean my room.

  • 「was going back to」について教えてください

Yuki told Erika at the beach that she was going back to Tokyo.

1She told me she has been hospitalized for appendicitis for weeks. 2She told me she had been hospitalized for appendicitis for weeks 3She said to me that~上記と同じ ks固形内での完了形は1でいけば今もまだ数週間入院している、2では単に数週間入院しているとの理解でよろしいでしょうか? The teacher told his students what had happened to Meg.

  • in the months leading up

My husband and I socialize with another couple that we met at a meetup about a year and a half ago. Six months ago, the husband invited mine on a guys’ hiking weekend. In the six months leading up to it, it was discussed often and always as a guys-only weekend. On the car ride there, my husband found out that some men were bringing their wives. I am furious at the couple for lying to me. I wouldn’t have wanted to go, and I wouldn’t have been upset that my husband was going, but I do think it’s a huge lie considering we talked about it no less than 10 times in the months leading up. In the six months leading up to itは「ハイキングまでの6ヶ月の間に」でしょうか?あと、最後のin the months leading upの意味も教えてください。

Late one evening,as my husband slept in front of the television and l was catching up on my e-mail,an “instant message” appeared on the screen. lt was from Mlargo,my oldest step-daughter,also up late and sitting in front of her computer five hours away. As usual,we sent several messages back and forth, exchanging the latest news. When we would “chat” like that, she wouldn’t necessarily know if it was me or her dad operating the keyboard---that is unless she asked. That night she didn't ask and l didn't identify myself either. After hearing the latest volleyball scores, the details about an upcoming dance at her school, and a history project she was working on,I commented that it was late and l should get to sleep. Her return message read,“Okay, talk to you later!Love you!”

  • My only reservation is

I was a loving and devoted mother to her and hoped she would realize that, especially after she had a child of her own. But I don't see that happening and I'm thinking of simply fading out of my daughter's life. I don't think she would miss me and, at this point, vice versa. My second husband's daughter and grandchildren love me. Rather than beating my head against a brick wall, I think I'd rather devote my energy to having a relationship with people who appreciate me. My only reservation is that my natural granddaughter will miss out on having a relationship.
