Yes, I see your point.

My suggestion would be the phrase「矢継ぎ早に / 絶え間なく」。The former has a stronger nuance of "in quick succession without time to rest/think" whereas the latter implies that the questions are "continuous and endless."
Also,「質問を聞く」is a little funny. 「質問をする」is OK. If you are repeating a question, then you「質問を繰り返す」。
So 「同じ質問を何度も何度も繰り返す」sounds natural.

... is not an accurate Japanese. You would have to say,
何回も連続「して」全く同じ質問を繰り返し聞くことができるか？

Having that said, I still think the following is better:
全く同じ質問を「何度も何度も繰り返し」聞くことができるか？

Yes, the last sentence feels smoother because it feels like one thought.

Hi again!

Firstly on "pleading." I take it that the nuance you want to bring out is like "crying out desperately not to repeat the question" or "begging to stop."

In that case, 「懇願（kongan）」instead of「嘆願（tangan）」might work.
There is another word「哀願（aigan）」but I feel that word might be a little self-denigrating.

If I was to choose between 「嘆願」、「訴え出る」、「懇願」、I would choose「懇願」。

Secondly on "over and over repetitively."
Well, you know very well that there is a redundancy here. But if you want to emphasize all the same, then I would translate like this:

Can a police officer during interrogations ask the exact same question "over and over repetitively" after the suspect has pleaded the 5th without violating the 38th amendment of the constitution?

After reading what you wrote I agree that 懇願 is the best. I've actually used 懇願 before and I know the meaning of the word but I haven't used it enough to feel the word.

I don't know about "over and over repetitively". Although I agree that you can use "over and over" in place of "repetitively" and vice-versa. I think here "repetitively" describes that the "over and over" was done in succession. I don't think at all it would add any emphasis to the act being done more times. I think most readers would think that the questions were asked without a break...

Hi, thanks for your comment.

1. I agree that if you want to emphasize "the exact same"... 「全く同じ質問」would suit better than「同様の質問」。Another possibility I might suggest would be「同一の質問」。But yes, I think 「全く同じ」is the most unambiguous.

2. My translation would be:
取調べ中の容疑者が黙秘権を行使した上で、且つ警察官に「これは精神的暴力、全く同じ質問を繰り返さないで下さい」"と訴え出た" 場合、警察官は、憲法第38条に抵触することなく、全く同じ質問を繰り返し聞くことができるか？

I would use either ”と訴えた場合” or "と訴え出た場合"
The two are almost interchangeable, but 訴える more suggests a formal appeal to court, whereas 訴え出る more a filing of complaint.

I do use the links you mention quite a bit.(especially the weblio.jp site)

I thought 訴え had more of a feeling of complaining rather than pleading. I mean the suspect was pleading with the police officer to stop repeating questions. I suppose in a sense he was 'complaining' to the officer however I feel more (have sympathy) for the suspect if he is 'pleading'. If he is complaining, then I get the opposite feeling (no sympathy). What do you think?

I have final translation question if you don't mind, then I'll close this off and will give you 'best answer' of course!

The translation question is, going back to the first sentence above. If I add "over and over" would the following Japanese be okay?

"How many times" を消した場合、日本語訳は正しいと思いますが、逆に今度は英語原文に少し修正を加えなくてはなりません。つまり、

How many times can a police officer の場合は、.... before it violates ......とセットになります。
「警察官は.....に抵触「するまで」何回......できるか。」

一方、Can a police officer とするのであれば、without violating ....... にしなければならないと思います。
「警察官は.....に抵触「することなく」.......できるか。」

What about this sentence: NOTE that I wonder if it's best to use 全く同じ質問 rather than 同様 because I really want to emphasis "the exact same"... also, just for the sake of learning, if I wanted to add a phrase like 「これは精神的暴」in the sentence, would this be correct?
