語順について
Wow ! I have never seen a house this big. 上記の英文の a house this bigをthis a big houseにすると駄目なんでしょうか？ 教えて下さい。よろしくお願いします。

this a big house とはできません。 this がついたら a はつかないはずです。 じゃあ a house this big はなぜいいかというと、 a house を後ろから this big が修飾している形です。 a house (which is) this big とすることも可能ですが、 this big というかたまりで後ろから名詞を修飾すると思ってください。 そして、this は普通、名詞について「この～」なのですが、 その応用で、形容詞や副詞の前について「これくらい、こんなに～」という意味で用いられます。 「こんなに大きな」家を 見たことがない

(1)this big 「こんなに大きい」の２語は決して崩せない語順です。 (2)a, an, the を冠詞と言いますが、冠詞とthis , that などの指示語は連続させてはいけません。指示語は他にthese, those, each, every などがあります。 (3)他に my, your などの所有格も続けてはいけません。(2)と(3)を合わせて限定詞といいます。 文法的には以上のような理由があります。
