ライセンス契約の一文について質問

企業間でのライセンス契約に以下の一文があります。 Licensor grants to Licensee a personal, non-transferable and non-exclusive license to use the Trademark. この場合のpersonalというのはどういう意味でしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

「ライセンス契約者のみ」に商標の使用を認めるということをpersonalとして強調しているんでしょう。企業間であれば、ふつうは個人向けのライセンスというのはあり得ないので、企業内のある部署にのみライセンス供与をするようなケースを想定してこういう文言になっているんだと思います。その前に「Licenceeに対して」と言っているんだから冗長だとは思いますが、契約書はだいたいくどい書き方をするものです。

会社や部門にでは無く、契約者個人に使用権を認める というものです。 仮に契約者が死亡したとすると、権利を彼の会社の後任 が自動的に引き継ぐことには、文面上はなりません。
