この文章の意味を教えてください？

これは、どうゆう意味ですか？ 「I still didn't give up the idea of coming to live here sooner or later though.」 「私は、遅かれ早かれここに戻って住むことを諦めてなかった。＝もう諦めた」って意味ですか？ still があるので、よくわかりません・・・ まだ諦めてなかった（過去形)ですが。 この文章の前に、「僕は今から千葉を離れる。」です。 諦めていなかったけど、この文章を書いてる時点で、戻って住むことを諦めたってことですか？？ 分かる方、教えてください。よろしくお願いします。

反対です。 でも、私はそれでも早かれ遅かれここに戻ってきて住むという考えをあきらめなかった。 still didnt give up the idea ＝まだ（それでも）考えをあきらめなかった。 なんの考えかというと　 of coming to live here sooner or later ＝早かれ遅かれここに戻ってきて住む though はbut また、however と同じ意味だと思います。

早々にありがとうございます。 「まだ（それでも）考えをあきらめなかった。」は過去形じゃないですか？ なので、諦めてなかったけど、この時点でもう諦めたってことじゃないんですか？ 深く読みすぎですか？笑

ダブル投稿です。すみません・・！ このいつかまた戻ってきて住みたいはあくまでも、この方が千葉を離れるときの気持ちだと思います。 その後どう気持ちが変わったのかは、この文章からはわかりません。 もしかしたら千葉を去ったあとに心変わりをしたかもしれないですし、本当に戻ってこられたのかもしれません。 あくまでもこの僕が千葉を去るときの気持ちしかこの文章からは分かりかねました。

ありがとうございます。 本日、彼が帰国しました。 この文章で、「今日千葉を去る。」が現在形で、その後が過去形。 I still don't give up.... だったら意味がわかりますが、ここだけ過去形なので。 前の文章が現在形で、その後が「それでも諦めなかった」は今現在の気持ちの表現として合ってるんでしょうか？うーーーん。 でも、これだけの文章からでは誰にもわかりませんよね。(笑)
