BENNINGTON GIVES UPDATE ON STP RECORDING SESSIONS, BAND TO RELEASE “OUT OF TIME” IN U.K. Stone Temple Pilots frontman Chester Bennington gave a brief update on STP's current recording sessions in a new interview with PhilStar, “We enjoy our families. I have a lot of kids. If I'm not with Linkin Park, I'm working with other people. I've been working with Stone Temple Pilots and we're making great music together.” STP will release “Out of Time” as a single on July 15th in the United Kingdom through Spinefarm Records in the UK. Spinefarm is a heavy metal label, so it's an interesting choice for STP to go with that label for the release of Out of Time. STP self-released the track in the United States in May. ※ 『Stone Temple Pilots』『Linkin Park』はバンド名、『Chester Bennington』は人物名、『Out of Time』は曲名です。

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS TO LAUNCH RECORD LABEL? Stone Temple Pilots have launched their own record label to release their new music with new frontman Chester Bennington, at least temporarily. On radio play charts STP's new single “Out of Time” did not have a label listed during its first month of airplay but now ‘STP/ADA’ is listed as the label, with STP having their self-released music distributed though the Alternative Distribution Alliance. This is similar to Pearl Jam releasing Backspacer through their own Monkeywrench Records but having it distributed by Target in the United States and Universal Music Group worldwide. This may just be a deal for “Out of Time” but with STP's battle a few years ago with Atlantic Records it could be their long term way to release music. ※ 『Stone Temple Pilots』『Pearl Jam』はバンド名、『Chester Bennington』は人物名、『Out of Time』は曲名です。

In addition to performing with Chester Bennington on Saturday at KROQ's Weenie Roast, STP also released a new single “Out of Time,” the band's first new song in 3 years and their first song with Bennington on vocals. The song is a balls to the walls rocker, faster paced than much of the material on Stone Temple Pilots. Musically the song sounds reminiscent of Core and No. 4, Dean DeLeo's riff is also clearly influenced by Jimmy Page.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, featuring Chester Bennington, will release an EP this fall, in conjunction with a North American tour that kicks off on September 4 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and winds down on September 27 in Las Vegas. Weiland told The Pulse Of Radio that he and Bennington were good friends before this, but he doesn't see Bennington's move as a betrayal. "Yeah, I mean, I've known Chester for a long time," he said. "I got to be pretty close with him on the Family Values tour. I don't think Chester did it in a spiteful way. The brothers DeLeo [Dean, guitar and Robert, bass], they can be pretty persuasive."
