こんにちは。 お世話になります。 英語初学者です。 英文を読んでいたら、主人公達の乗ったロケットが惑星に着陸するシーンで、 次のような描写が有りました。 ‟We are going to land on that planet,”said Nadim. ‟We will soon be there.” 上段2番目の文の willが、なぜ、be going toではなく使われているのかが分りません。 置き換えて、we are going to be there soonにすることは可能でしょうか？ どなたか、意味を教えては下さいませんでしょうか？ 宜しくお願いいたします。

以下の文について質問があります。 （ＴＯＥＩＣ問題集の文です） The law says that all drivers have to be able to produce their licenses when requested to do so by the police. 意味的には、警察に免許書を見せるように言われたら見せないといけないと法律で定められている と言うことなのですが、なぜ「have to produce」ではなく「have to be able to」とbe able toが付いているのでしょうか？ このbe able toは物凄く余分なもののように感じます。 また、have to be able toは実際に使用されるのでしょうか？どのような状況で使用されるか教えていただけないでしょうか？

Meaning of "be supposed to". Be supposed toの意味をきちんとわかりたいのですが、よろしくおねがいします。調べたところによると、supposed toは ある掲示板でこう説明されていました。 ↓ Question. This sentence means that people said she knew how to behave properly. This sentence means that people said she knew how to behave properly (この文が意味するのは、人が彼女はどう振舞えばよいか知っているのを言ったということ) Question. As you say, 'to be supposed to' can also mean to be expected or required, not only by duty, but also by law, morality, custom etc. (to do something). Now, to convey this meaning, I would just say: "She was supposed to behave properly" (it was her duty to act rightly). こんにちは。 "Harry potter and the prisoner of Azkaban [UK版]"のP142の第一文に関して質問です。 「To everyone's delight except Harry's, there was to be another Hogsmeade trip on the very last weekend of term.」 上記の文で、"there was to be another Hogsmeade trip"とあるのですが、"there was another Hogsmeade trip "との違いはなんでしょうか？単に"there was another Hogsmeade trip "では駄目なのでしょうか？ 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

A couple does not have to argue for there to be problems. 「言い争っていない夫婦も問題を抱えていることがある」 上の文ですが、文法的にどのように解釈するのか分かりません。 A couple does not have to argue までで、SVの第一文型で、 残りは副詞句ですが、forが前置詞なのか副詞なのかが分かりませんし、 there to be problemsという箇所につきましては今まで見たことがなく解釈できません。
