(1) The fact that those who are overweight die earlier than those who are not should be easy to understand. (2) The fact that domestic cats will share a home with a human family is, in itself, proof of their flexibility. (3) It was very pleasant to sit and watch the bathers splashing about in the water.

Moreover, with so many bonds available, fund managers can replicate indices while maintaining some flexibility in the exact choice of assets. Weight concentrated around the abdomen and in the upper part of the body (the apple shape) poses a higher health risk than fat that settles around the hips and flank (the pear shape). Fat cells in the upper part of the body appear to have different qualities from those found in the lower parts. In fact, studies suggest a higher risk for diabetes in people with the "apple shape" and lower risk in those who are "pear shaped."

New nutrition labels proposed in the U.S. will also require food manufacturers to list any added sugars, plus a more prominent calorie count. Earlier this week, Britain's chief medical officer, Dr. Sally Davies, said she thought sugar might be addictive and that the government should consider introducing a sugar tax to curb bulging waistlines. The U.K. has one of the fattest populations in Western Europe. "We have a generation of children who, because they're overweight … may not live as long as my generation," she told a health committee. "They will be the first generation that lives less and that is of great concern."

Some writers who do not think clearly are inclined to suppose that their thoughts have a significance greater than at first sight appears. It is flattering to believe that they are too profound to be expressed so clearly that all who run may read, and very naturally it does not occur to such writers that the fault is with their own minds which have not the faculty of precise reflection. (The Summing Up by W. S Maugham) It is flattering to~から始まる英文の中にある" so clearly that all who run may read"の個所について質問があります。 * all who run(走るすべての人?)

There are many who feel that the scientist is interested in noting more than "bodies in motion," in the strictly mathematical physical, and chemical laws that govern the material world. "bodies in motion"のあとのinについてです。 Those who believe this also assert that there are aspects of the human mind, manifest especially in the domains of morality, religion, and the arts, that contain an irreducible spiritual element and for that reason can never be adequately explained by science. またcan never beの主語はhuman mindですよね?

now that bin laden is dead, the most pressingquestionwe need to ask is:will his death make a difference? thoughit is not an easy questionto answer, it seems to me that there are fourareas where it ought to be asked: ~the arab spring~ the comumentariat was quick to note the delisious irony that bin laden`s death coincided with the citizen uprisings in egypt, tunisia, libya and elsewhere.the arab spring has shown that millions of muslims have zero interest in the hard-line theocracy favored by al qaeda.what they yearn for instead is freedom and democracy. bin laden`s death merely put an exclamation point on the fact that his influence in the region had diminished considerably in the decade since 9/11. ~the war in afganistan~ ever since he came into office, president obama has insisted that our presence in afghanistan was directly related to the ongoing threat from al qaeda. liberal groups like the brave new foundation are already saying that binladen`s death has``ended the rationale``for the war.
