Anotherの使い方と別の情報の表現方法

(A) several (B) much more (C) a number of (D) another その入札に参加するための、もっと多くの情報が必要だ。 答えは(B)です。 (D) のanotherにしてしまったんですがanotherは可算名詞しか修飾できないので 不正解と説明にあったのですが、文章的に We need （another） information about participating in the bid. その入札に参加するための、別の情報が必要だ。 と「別の情報」みたいに表したいときはどうするものなのでしょうか？？！

other information とすればいいです。 other ＋可算名詞の単数形は間違いで another ＋可算名詞の単数形です。 しかし，不可算名詞なら other ＋不可算名詞 でいいわけです。 another piece of information とすることも可能ですが， other information の方が普通だと思います。

"another information" という言い方は確かにありますが、今のような場合 We need (much) more information about... (あるいは単に We need information about... ) という言い方の方がずっと普通です。 another piece of information と言えば問題がありません。従って「可算名詞しか修飾できない」という理由は大体そんなところでしょう。
