ちょっとだけ変えてみました、参考にしてください。 First of all I do not agree with this opinion. It is true English is nowadays one of the most powerful and important communication tools. But I wonder how many Japanese people find it necessary to use English in their daily life. In fact hey have almost few chance to meet and talk with foreign people in the office or on the street. Of course, English is surely important, for example, on global internet shopping as all the messages are written in English. But it does not mean you have to speak English well. Instead of spending much time and energy to study English, I think it would be more helpful to learn other major languages like Chinese, Spanish or Russian as they are becoming more important for Japan to deal with those speaking these languages. So, I do not think adopting English as its second official language is a good idea.
