at any cost は「どんな犠牲を払っても」という意味です。 in favor of productivity at any cost で「何に換えても生産性が有利になるように」「何よりも生産性を優先させて」という意味になります。 cost にも「犠牲」の意味合いがありますので，sacrifice とダブってしまいますが，別の訳語にすればすむことです。 「何よりも生産性を重視するあまり，生物学的必要性が犠牲になることがある」 win-at-any-cost で「絶対勝利」のような標語になることもあります。 at any cost で「ぜひとも」と訳すことがありますが，その場に合うように「何よりも」とか「絶対」のように訳し換えるといいと思います。

私たちは「cost」や「sacrifice」という単語を見ると安易に「犠牲」という訳をつけてしまいがちですが、もう少し別の意味合いの可能性を考えた方が良い場合もあります。 まず「in favor of productivity」と「at any cost」は、どちらも「is (sometimes) sacrificed」という動詞にかかる副詞句です。 前者は「生産性を優先して」か「生産性のために」で良いでしょう。しかし、後者は「whatever happens」という言い換えができますので、「たとえどのような事態になろうとも」とか「どんなに身体に負担がかかることになっても」くらいの訳が可能です。 また、「sacrifice」には「give up」や「endure the loss of」という意味がありますので、ここでは「（～を）我慢する」の方が良さそうです。さらに、本人には不利益を与えることなので「（～を）我慢しなければならない」としても良さそうです。 全訳です。「生産性のためには、どんなに身体に負担をかけることになっても（食事・用足し・睡眠などの）生理的な欲求を我慢しなければならないことが時にはあるのだ。」ではいかがでしょうか。 ご参考になれば・・・。

in favor of productivity at any cost で「いかなる犠牲を払っても生産性（の向上）のために」、体の生物学的欲求が犠牲になることがあるということではないでしょうか。 原文を見ましたが、不眠症についての文ですね。この前の部分は ＞In today's hustle and bustle atmosphere of workaholism and efforts to succeed and get ahead, ですので、生産性第一の現代では睡眠（＝生物学的欲求）がその犠牲になるということでしょう。
