訳を見ていただけますか？
友人からのメールで訳がわからない個所があります。 I learned that my sister will have a boy. I wished it would have been a girl... a girl like her so she would have understood how it feels like to confront someone like her(she can be a real pain in the ass), but a boy will do...as long as he doesn't touch my pictures. 妹の赤ちゃんが男の子だって聞いたんだけど、私は女の子がよかったなあ… 妹みたいな女の子だったら誰かに立ち向かうのがどんな気持ちか よくわかる？赤ちゃんが私の写真をさわらないようにしなきゃ… 英語のネイティブではない友人なので文法を間違えているかもしれません。上記で使われているreal pain in the assとは何のことなのでしょうか。 出産の痛みかと思ったんですがassってお尻のことですよね？ どうかよろしくお願いします。

他の方がすでに訳しているので、その部分は割愛させていただきます。 ただ私もNo2さん同様 a girl like her so she would have understood how it feels like to confront someone like her の部分は？です。 基本的にカジュアルな文でassって出てきたらスラングです。 友達とドライブをしているとによくits a huge ass track!って馬鹿でかいトラックをみながら言ってたのをよく覚えてます。この分にあるassはお尻という意味ではなくてhugeという形容詞を誇張しているだけです。質問者様の文でもin the assはa real painを誇張しいて意訳すると、めちゃくちゃ厄介って意味だと思います。 最後の文でhe doesn't toubh my picutesのpicturesは写真という意味ではないと思います。この文を意訳すると、男の子の赤ちゃんが厄介じゃなけりゃいいけど、という意味で、picturesは質問者様の友達の思ってること、文脈で言うとa real pain in the assを表していると思います。picture はyou are in the wrong picture＝まちがってるよor勘違いしてるよ、という意味でつかわれることもあるのでおそらく同じような感じだと思います。

その「妹」が厄介な性格の持ち主のようで、 彼女の赤ちゃんが彼女みたいな厄介な女の赤ちゃんだったら、（自分で育ててみて）そんな子を育てる（立ち向かう）のがどれほど大変かをわかるのに。 でも、男の子だったらいい。私の写真を触らない限りはね。 pain in the ass = 厄介なもの、人 ここでは「妹」のことです。

文法的にも正しい、ごくふつうの文章です。 ニュアンスを含めて全訳しますと、こんな感じ。 妹に、男の子が生まれるんだってさぁ。 女の子だったら、よかったのにな～。… 妹そっくりの女の子だったら、自分〔妹〕のようなヤツとつきあうのが、どんな気分なのか、妹自身にも理解できただろうからサ。(妹は、ほんと、「困ったちゃん」になるときがあるからね) でも、男の子でもいいよ…わたしの写真に手を触れない限りは、だけどね。

たしかにネイティブの英語じゃないですね。 わたしはネイティブ以外の英語も慣れていますが、下記の部分は？って感じです。 a girl like her so she would have understood how it feels like to confront someone like her ここだけ「どーいう意味？」って聞いてみたらよいと思います。わたしはバイリンガルですがネイティブにも通じない箇所です。 She can be a real pain in the arse(またはアメリカ英語でass) の意味は、「彼女ってかなり面倒なときは面倒かも」って意味です。 Arse (or ass）はお尻の意味ですが、これは単なるスラングです。 ＞but a boy will do...as long as he doesn't touch my pictures. 意味は、女の子はがっくしたけど、男の子だったらよかったのにね、わたしの写真を触らなければってことだけど。 の訳ですが・・・、ずいぶん変な会話ですね。。。（＾－＾；） この文章を書いた人が本当に言いたいこと、この文章だとちょっと伝わりません。 写真ってどーいうこと？とか聞いたほうがいいです。 （質問者さんとの間で逆にわかってる話ってこともあるので、この部分だけみて単にわたしがわかってないってこともありますが） では。

I am a very private person, but I have a family member who asks too many questions (of everyone) all the time -- silly questions, personal questions, medical questions, etc. I have spoken to her privately about this -- telling her that I am not comfortable with the constant questions -- multiple times.
