It is her fate that she will not fight か、 she will not fight: that's her fate とか、 そういうのじゃないでしょうか。 so missed who could endeavor such intensity of feeling は、 上行の she を主語として、(she is) so missed who could ...

As though the stars have ordained the union of spirits long ago in some other life, or some other world, the souls are joined. We might say simply the two people are meant for each other, it is this partner, this Soul Mate who shows so graphically in your chart. The one whose life and fate is bound up with yours. Other partners or lovers may show too, but not with the same intensity. In this third reading I will endeavor to answer your questions, and reveal more of the secret destiny that love has in store for you.

I can’t understand. I stare at them, frowning, and the colours shift under the intensity of my gaze: change for a moment and are darker, as if a cloud has come over the sky and cut out all the light of the sun—(前回の終わりの部分です) Darkness but the light of stars— It’s dark; the shadows of the rocks and cliffs are very deep. It is night-time, and the cliffs and the vegetation that straggles along their top are leached of colour. Somewhere close by is the sea: the sound of it, slowly rhythmic; the interlocking patterns of the waves discernible by moonlight, some blue-black here beween the pearlescent ribbons of light that blur across the low crests. Off to one side are three rocks breaking out of the water, and to the other is a little promontory of land that curves out into the water, defining a naturally calm place sheltered from the greater expanse of the sea beyond. Standing on the curve of land— ****************************************** 主人公のAlexはartistで、展示会に備えるために、幼い頃過ごしたイタリアに戻ってきています。 Somewhere close by is the seaの読み方は倒置で、the sea is somewhere close byですか?(海はどこか近くにある?)もしそうだとしたら、なぜわざわざ倒置にしているのでしょうか? the interlocking patterns of the waves discernible by moonlight, some blue-black here beween the pearlescent ribbons of light that blur across the low crests. 以下も倒置だと思われるのですが、 to the other is a little promontory of land that curves out into the water, defining a naturally calm place sheltered from the greater expanse of the sea beyond. The shadow of the rock where it hits the water kills the moonlight, and makes a dark, impenetrable hollow by the curving underside of the promontory.の it hits the water kills the moonlight,についてですが、itはthe shadow of the rockだと思うのですが、それが水が月の光を殺す、というのはどういう状態なのでしょうか?

1) 『 At last she told me that if I went on as before, she could never forgive me; but if I would promise to live more quietly she would take me back again. Seeing that she still hankered after me I determined to school her a little further yet, and said that I could make no conditions and must be free to live as I chose. ・・・? if I would promise to live more quietly she would take me back again. (if I promised to live~にはなっていない) 「約束するならば、連れ戻すでしょう。」 Seeing that she・・・「Seeing」は分詞構文の「理由」ですか? a little further yet・・・さらにいっそうもう少し?? must be free to live as I chose・・・・「must」は(主張・固執)の「・・・せずにはおれない」「気がすまない」、の意味にもとれそうなのですが。 2) 『 So the tug of war went on; but it seems that it hurt her far more than I knew, for in a little while she fell into a decline and died, leaving me aghast at the upshot of my wanton game. And now I felt that, whatever faults she might have had, her devotion alone would have made her a fit wife for me. 3) 『 I remembered how both in trivial talk and in consideration of important matters she had never once shown herself at a loss, how in the dyeing of brocades she rivaled the Goddess of Tatsuta who tints the autumn leaves, and how in needlework and the like she was not less skilful than Tanabata, the Weaving-lady of the sky.” Here he stopped, greatly distressed at the recollection of the lady's many talents and virtues.』

Since the Fukushima accident we have seen a stream of experts on radiation telling us not to worry, that the doses are too low, that the accident is nothing like Chernobyl and so forth. They appear on television and we read their articles in the newspapers and online. Fortunately the majority of the public don’t believe them. I myself have appeared on television and radio with these people; one example was Ian Fells of the University of Newcastle who, after telling us all on BBC News that the accident was nothing like Chernobyl (wrong), and the radiation levels of no consequence (wrong), that the main problem was that there was no electricity and that the lifts didn’t work. “ If you have been in a situation when the lifts don’t work, as I have” he burbled on, “you will know what I mean.” You can see this interview on youtube and decide for yourself. What these people have in common is ignorance. You may think a professor at a university must actually know something about their subject. But this is not so. Nearly all of these experts who appear and pontificate have not actually done any research on the issue of radiation and health. Or if they have, they seem to have missed all the key studies and references. I leave out the real baddies, who are closely attached to the nuclear industry, like Richard Wakeford, or Richard D as he calls himself on the anonymous website he has set up to attack me, “chrisbusbyexposed”. Ian Fells of the University of Newcastle whoとありますが、whoに対する動詞はどれですか? telling us all on BBC News とありますが、tellingの目的節がthat以下になって最後のthatはand that になるはずと思うのですが、どうもそのようになってない。and that the lifts didn’t workのand that は the main problem was に対するthatですよね?
