文章の意味が？？
The FDA finding of substantial equivalence of your device to a legally marketed predicate device results in a classification for your device and thus, permits your device to proceed to the market. という文ですが、results inの部分は The FDA finding of substantial equivalence of your device to a legally marketed predicate deviceの結果、a classification for your deviceになった、という解釈で合っていますか？ その場合「Predicate Deviceが合法的に市販された結果、製品が分類され・・」となりますよね。 「製品が分類された」という結果は、どういう意味なのでしょうか。 製品の分野が開拓された、とかでしょうか？ 宜しくお願いします。

直訳に近いですが 「あなたの装置が合法的に市販されているpredicate装置と実質的に同等であることを見出したFDAは、結果としてあなたの装置に対し格付けを与える。それゆえ、あなたの装置を市場で発売することを許可する」 ご参考までに。

私も英語は苦手分野のため、全く自信はありませんが、results inを逆に捉えているように感じます。 a classification for your deviceの結果、your deviceがlegally marketed predicate deviceとsubstantial equivalenceである事を findingしたと言う解釈だと思います。 私なりの和訳を提示しておきます。 FDAはあなたの装置を分類した結果として、あなたの装置は合法的に市販された装置と本質的に同等である事を発見しました。 つまり、FDAはあなたの装置の市販を許可しました。 誤訳でしたらごめんなさい。

Again principal components analysis was used to orthogonalize and reduce the number of parameters needed to represent the variance in the spectral data set. The scores on the first two principal components, representing the most significant signal variance, were used as input for the classification model together with the histopathologic classification. The prediction algorithm was based on the method of logistic regression. Logistic regression is a variation of ordinary regression,useful when the observed outcome is restricted to two values, usually representing the occurrence or nonoccurrence of some outcome event (Tabachnick and Fidell, 1996).As explained in the Results section the prediction algorithm consisted of two consecutive steps. In the first step dermis was distinguished from BCC and epidermis.
