Of all living writers he is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject of all living writers. He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject, of all living writers. >He is the one(= the writer). >+ >The peculiar turn of his mind best fits him to write on this >subject. The peculiar turn of his mind >までが主語で,「彼の精神の独特な傾向」 >fits が動詞で,fit O to do で「O を~するのに適するよう >にする」のような意味になります。 >単純に >The peculiar turn of his mind >↓ >The peculiar turn of whose mind >となっているだけです。 >of whose mind the peculiar turn とすることも可能ですが, >避けた方がいいと思います >He lives in a house whose roof is red. >=He lives in a house the roof of which is red. (といっても,of which 自 >体まれです)この the roof of which も,the roof of it(= >the house)の it が which に変わっただけで,which を >前に出していません。 He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. He is the one the peculiar turn of of which mind best fits him to write on this subject.

There is a man the sleeve of ( ) shirt is red. 先行詞は a man です。 a man を「彼」と受けて,「彼のシャツ」his shirt の代わりが whose shirt です。 「その人のシャツ」となり, the sleeve of whose shirt is red で「その人のシャツの袖が赤い」とつながっていきます。 the sleeve of / whose shirt is red でなく, is red の主語は the sleeve (of whose shirt) です。

There is a man the sleeve of whose shirt is red. The man the sleeve of whose shirt is red is my father.

He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. He lives in a house the roof of whose color is red.

回答No.6

He lives in a house the roof of whose color is red. a house / the roof of whose color is red a man / the roof of whose house is red 「その人の家の屋根が赤い,そのような人」 なら文法的に正しくなります。

He lives in a house the roof of whose color is red. There is a man the sleeve of whose shirt is red.

回答No.5

the roof of which あと,of which roof でなく,of which the roof です。 the roof of it がもとの語順です。 He lives in a house the roof whose is red. He lives in a house the roof of whose is red. he is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. he is the one. The peculiar turn of his mind best fits him to write on this subject. 結論的にはこれらの 2 文をつなげると,his を whose に変えて, he is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. a house the roof of which is red これを書き換えるのなら,of which でなく,of whom です。 He is the one the peculiar turn of of whom mind best fits him to write on this subject of all living writers. He is the one of whom the peculiar turn of the mind とすべきで,やはり,mind に the がつきます。

>He lives in a house the roof whose is red. >He lives in a house the roof of whose is red. He lives in a house the roof of whose color is red.

回答No.4

He lives in a house whose roof is red. =He lives in a house the roof of which is red. He lives in a house. に対して,a house を it で受けて所有格 its にして, Its roof is red. He lives in a house whose roof is red. The roof of it is red. He lives in a house the roof of which is red. He lives in a house / the roof of which is red. He lives in a house of which the roof is red. この of にしても,a house of ~とは決してつながりません。 http://www.rain.hyarc.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~tsuboki/ronbun/detailed_points_eng/relative_pronoun.html >a house of which the roof これが倒置され a house the roof of which も理解でき、a house of the roof whoseも正しい英文です。 whose → of which ですが, its → of it と同じ感覚です。 a house of which the roof で,a house of とはつながっていません。 the roof of which → of which the roof と,of which が前に出た形です。 a house of the roof whose

He lives in a house whose roof is red. He lives in a house the roof of which is red. He lives in a house of which the roof is red. He lives in a house the roof whose is red. He lives in a house the roof of whose is red.

先行詞が物だったとしても、 語順はof of which mindではなく、of the mind of whichですね。 He is the one whose mind's peculiar turn best fits~. He is the one. His mind's peculiar turn best fits~. the one ときた後に、the peculiar turn of~と続く形は、たしかにちょっと力技っぽいですね。

He is the one whose mind's peculiar turn best fits~. He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits~. He lives in a house whose roof is red. のwhoseは of which と置き換えられる ↓ He lives in a house of which roof is red. (正しい) ↓ He lives in a house the roof of which is red.(と倒置も文法的に出来る。 1)He lives in a house the roof whose is red. 2)He lives in a house the roof of whose is red.

He is the one the peculiar turn of of which mind best fits him to write on this subject. He is the one the peculiar turn of mind of whom best fits him to write on this subject.

He is the one the peculiar turn of mind of whom best fits him to write on this subject He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject of all living writers. He is the one the peculiar turn のone はwirterであり名詞になりますが、その後にthe one the peculiar turn ofと名詞(句?) の質問に the peculiar turn of whose mind best 関係代名詞の whoseがあるために文法的に正しい・・・・ 例題として >He lives in a house whose roof is red. >=He lives in a house the roof of which is red. a house of which the roof これが倒置され a house the roof of which も理解でき、a house of the roof whoseも正しい英文です。 He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject of all living writers. whose はof whichと書き換えることができなくては、おかしいです。 He is the one the peculiar turn of of which mind best fits him to write on this subject of all living writers.

回答No.1

He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits him to write on this subject. He lives in a house whose roof is red. が,He lives in a house the roof of which is red.
