tikitiki33さん ご承知だと思いますが、このスレ、一旦「丸投げ違反の疑い」で削除されたものです。なので僕からサポートデスクに「そうではない、訳自体は簡単だが専門知識を要するものなので、スレとして有効だ」という事情を説明したところ、「改めて該当の投稿内容を確認いたしましたところ、当サイトにおける明らかな違反とまではいえないものと判断し、質問および回答を復活させていただきました」ということで、復活してもらいました。 今後はこういった疑いが掛からないよう、ご自分で一旦訳してみて、「こういうことで良いか？ この箇所がどうしても意味が分からない」という質問の仕方をされて下さい。よろしくお願いしますね。 さて本題です。そうですか、これは豪州政府か何かのサイトなんですね。それを聞いて思いました。「The certificationは Regulation（すなわち政府が定める安全基準や環境規制を）クリアしていることを宣言する」となっています。 つまり、この「The certification」というのはあくまで「豪州政府制定フォーム」であり、「豪州政府が定める安全基準や環境規制をクリアしていることを宣言する」というためだけの書類であって、「必ずしも、国際基準であるISO 13485のような基準への適合を宣言するものではない」という話ではないかと思いました。 一言で言うと、「The certification」と「declaration of comformity」は実は別の書類なのかなということです。 だから「メーカーは「The certification」とは別に、declaration of conformityとしてISO13485のような基準への適合を宣言しても良いよ。それを添付資料？として The certification に付けても良いよ。でもくれぐれも言っておくけど、「The certification」にはISO適合云々とは書かないでね」ということだと考えると、ツジツマが合いませんか？

普通は、ある製品がISOに適合していれば、はっきりと書く、または その認定書のコピーをつけるものです。 ですから、ここで can't make a declaration against a conformity assessment standard such as ISO 13485, if it had been used, と書かれていると、何のことだ？？と訳せなくなっているのです。 これはオーストラリアの申請の方法のページからの抜粋なので、文が間違っているとは思えず、困っているのです。 どう訳せば良いのやら....

この場合 againstとは、「～に対して」ということですね。「反対（方向）に」という意味ではありません。 ・draw cash advance against the company's line of credit ・claim against my insurance policy 、、、と同じ用法と考えてよろしいかと考えます。
