留学生すべての親がこっちに来るとは限りませんを英語で・・

今年卒業でプロムがあるんですが両親がきません。たぶんホストファミリーなんかにもどうしてって聞かれると思うんですが(1)「必ず両親がこれるとも限りません」(2)「いろいろな理由でこれません」ってどういう風にいえばいいんですか？ (1)？ (2)They cant come for some reason. なんかおかしい響きのような気がします。

本文には書かれていませんが、タイトルから察するに 「特別な理由はない」 (There is) no special reason. 「留学生の親すべてが来るのではない」 Not all parents of exchange students come. と言いたいのでしょうか。（　）内は割愛可能です。 尚、They can't come for some reason.は「なぜだか彼らは来られない」という意味なので、あなたが理由がわからず困惑しているように感じられてしまいます。They can't come for various reasons.なら「いろいろな理由で来られないんです」という意味になるので、使えるのではないでしょうか。でもやはり、I guess they're busy.「忙しいんじゃないかな」くらいに言っておいたほうが相手も納得すると思います。「いろいろな理由」というと相手は「どんな理由？」と聞きたくなると思うので。

とりあえず質問の文を訳すと、 必ず両親がこれるとも限りません They may not be able to make it. いろいろな理由でこれません They won't be able to make it due to circumstances. でも両親が来れない理由を聞かれているのに、「必ず両親がこれるとも限りません」という返答は日本語でもおかしくないですか？「仕事が忙しくて」あたりが無難でいいと思います。
