日本版がなく輸入版を購入したのですが、自分の力では意味が取れません… ぜひアドバイスいただけたらと思います。お願いいたします。 She asks me if I'm sick What's a girl to do With friends like this She lets me drive her car So I can score an eighth From the lesbians この部分と the trouble we can get in So let's screw this one up right の２つの部分なのですが… １つめの部分は、全体的によく意味が分かりません。特にSo I can score an eighth～の部分が。 ２つめの方は、screw upってダメにするとかよくない意味のイメージがあるのですが、最後にrightとあるので、いい意味でこのscrew upは使われているのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

◎eighth（ball） 隠語でメサフェデミン（すみません、スペルを知らなくて…^^; とかヘロインとか、ドラッグを示す言葉だと思います。 ◎let's screw this one up right うーん、どうなるんでしょうか。 rightを、本当に、ちゃんと、…といった意味にとらえて 「徹底的にダメにしてしまおうぜ。」とかで、いいかなぁ。う～～ん。 どなたの歌なんでしょうか。 ちょっと興味がありますので、こっそり教えていただけますか？

lemsipさん、こんばんは。 曲、しっかりGETしてきました、ハイ。 以前CMで耳にしたことのあったバンドさんでした。 この機会にバンド名、アルバム名が判明してよかったです。(^^) >もしこの１曲目（Holiday From Real）をお聞きになってたら、何度も申し訳ないんですが、この曲全体の意味をアドバイスいただけないでしょうか？ 全体的な曲の内容は、一人の女の子の物語… そうですね、どこかからCAに上京(?…って言うのかな?）してきて、 その生活をうたったもの。 But if you left it up to me Everyday would be A holiday from real この部分の歌詞で 退廃的になりつつある自分の生活の中から本当は抜け出したい、という 彼女の本当の気持ちも読み取れると言うか。 でも、ハッキリ言って薬中の女の子の歌です。 >ＬＡとベネチアの地名が出てきますが、 歌詞中、[ Out west in Venice ]の“Venice”の事でしょうか？ ここでは、カリフォルニア州にある町の名前です。 もうひとつ、似た聞こえのする Beneath the sun という部分もあります。 歌詞を一行、一行訳するのは、ここで私が行う仕事ではないと思いますので あくまでも私なりにとらえた曲の内容だけをお伝えしますね。 ご購入されたCDには歌詞カードは付いていましたか? 多分、もうご自分でお調べになったとは思いますが、参考までに JMの歌詞を載せているサイトのURLをお知らせしておきます。 それでは。

lemsipさん、こんにちは。再びyummyです。 Jack's MannequinのHP,見てきました! 私もこのバンド、気に入ってしまいましたよ～ｖ あとでiTuneに直行しようかと思ってます。 さてと、私のあのような頼りない回答でも、lemsipさんの お役にちょっとでも立てたこと、嬉しく思います。 で、 >What's a girl to do With friends like this の部分ですが、全体の歌詞を見たら、分かりやすくなりました。 「こんな友達しかいない私（a girl）にどうしろっていうの」 「こんな人間しかまわりにいないのよ。何が出来るって言うの」 こんな感じでいいと思います。 ニュアンスをとらえていただいて、lemsipさんの方でちゃんとした日本語に 直していただければ…（笑） でも、輸入版を購入されて、歌詞の意味をちゃんと理解しようという lemsipさんは、偉いなぁ、と思いました。 私なんて、ほぼ聞き流しですから…（爆 今回は、もうひとつお気に入りのバンドを紹介していただけたようで 私も嬉しく思います。 それでは、私も曲をGETしに行って来ます～ｖｖ

何度もありがとうございます！ なるほど～、そういう感じの意味だったのですね。 また一つ意味が取れるようになりました。ありがとうございます！ ＪＭ、yummy0さんにも気に入ってもらえてすごくうれしいです！ 私は曲ももちろんですが、SoCo時からフロントマンのアンドリューの書く歌詞がキレイだしおもしくてすごく好きで、だからこれだけは絶対に意味を理解して聞きたいと思ってまして。 でも難しいです～。 iTunesで曲ゲットできましたか～？ もしこの１曲目（Holiday From Real）をお聞きになってたら、何度も申し訳ないんですが、この曲全体の意味をアドバイスいただけないでしょうか？ ＬＡとベネチアの地名が出てきますが、今はＬＡで普通の生活（仕事探そうとかって歌詞があるので）に戻っていて、ベネチアで過ごした休暇をなつかしんでいる（うらやましがっている？）って感じなんでしょうか～？？ １つ１つの意味はyummy0さんのおかげで分かったのですが、全体的にどういう意味なのかがつかめないのです… もしお時間ありましたらアドバイスいただけるとうれしいです。ムリいってすいません。。。

「天使にラブソングを２」の“joyful joyful”の歌詞でラップの部分の後半で“So I had to grow and come to an understanding That I'm down with the King so ・・・・・・tell me who you down with, see"の部分が聞き取れません。歌詞を調べると、“so now I'm demanding that you tell”“So no-one comanded that you tell”等となっていますが、何度聞いてもそうは聞こえません。どなたか分かる方がいらっしゃればご教授下さい。

So, I'll translate my message into Japanese. Another way you could think of it is if the two sentences COULD connect naturally with only a comma you can use "so." You can write- I'd like to help you as well, so I will translate my message into Japanese. You can't write- Let me see what I can do, so I will translate my message into Japanese. Hope this helps, let me know if I'm writing too many notes here!
