Then there is the sixth period, which Duvall refers to as the launching period, as the young adults emerge to become independent in society . Typically, this period involves some degree of support from home-perhaps providing a home for a child who is away at college during term-time, or providing help with furnishings or a regular Sunday lunch for a young adult who is independent and working. This period lasts from the time when the first child leaves , to when the last child leaves home. The seventh of Duvall's stages is the empty-nest period, when all the children have left and the parents are together at home . This can be quite a difficult adjustment for some couples , particularly if the children have been the exclusive focus of attention for most of their time together. Some couples , though ,find it a pleasant relief , because it means they can simply enjoy one another's company again. They often begin a number of co-operative activities that they weren't doing before , such as redecorating, or travelling. The final period in the family life cycle , described by Duvall, is the retirement period , in which the members of the partnership who were working are now retired . This , too , can be aperiod of re-adjustment , particularly if one of the couple has been accustomed to having the house to themselves for most of the day.

(メンバーが着替えの為に出て行く) They are preparing for the next program, so wait a minute, please. Next, we are going to be presenting "Soran Bushi"―a traditional Japanese dance from the northern most. Soran Bushi is fisherman's dance, representing one of the processes of catching herring in the offing. The men catching herring work on the cold sea without sleep for a few days, so they use the shout “Soran” to cheer themselves up. To catch herring, they use big nets. First, they cast a net into the water, then drive herring into it, pull the net up, and load the herring into the boat. Soran Bushi represents this last process. Recently in Japan, this dance has been taken up in a popular TV drama and is rising in popularity. Also the competitions for this dance are being taken place. Now, please enjoy our dance. 以上です。よろしくお願いします。

I am a baby boomer and appreciate the 20th-century tradition of "rising to the occasion" and taking in meals if a family member is ill or if there has been a death in the family. It is a kind and thoughtful gesture. I am in a club, and one member's husband was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. At that time, our president assigned each member a time to take a meal to them, staggered by a few days. Our president requested that we share the menu with other club members so there wouldn't be duplicated meals. The member's husband recently died, and our president has again requested that we take food to the house. And we are stepping up to the plate and doing so. 1 taking in mealsはどのような意味でしょうか? 2 staggered by a few daysはどのような意味でしょうか? 3 最後の文の和訳をお願いします。 以上、よろしくお願いします
