rate はこの場合は文字通り料金。rateの他の意味は、割合、比率、基準、評価など、何か比べるものがあって、それに対しての値。そうすると、この文では料金表みたいなものをイメージして、その時に団体に適用される、料金と言う感じ。 group rate で”団体料金”。普通は団体だと安くなるので”団体割引”と訳しても良いですがrateそのものには割引の意味はありません。 それに対してcharge は日本語では同じ料金とやくされても、料金を請求する、課金すると言う意味が含まれます。 service charge はサービス料。additional charge は追加料金。なのでgroup chargeと言うと、イメージとしては、団体だから追加で手間が発生して、余計にお金を請求される、”団体追加料金”みたいに聞こえます。
