海外製の電動車椅子は、日本の道路交通法の基準を満たしていない可能性があります。 道路交通法の基準を満たしていれば「電動車椅子は歩行者扱い」となり、公道でも免許等無しで使用可能です。 しかし、基準を満たしていない場合、道路交通法違反となる可能性があり、使用出来ない場合もあります。 例えば「道交法の規定を超えた速度が出る」という場合「歩行者として扱われない」ので使用すると違法になります。 「税関の心配」よりも「買ったけど日本で違法になって使えないかも知れない」という点の方を心配しましょう。 下手すると3600ドルをドブに捨てる結果になります。
