英文解釈について
以下の英文解釈について文法的解釈も含め教えて下さい。 given以下がよく理解できません。 It seems incredible that those subsidies are still in place given that America doesn’t look anything like it did following the Second World War. よろしくお願いします。

通常の it seems that と違い、SVC で it が形式主語で that 以下が真主語。 given that ～で「～ということを考慮すると」 like SV で「～するように」 ここで did は looked の意味です。 アメリカが二次大戦後の様子と全然違っていることを考えると、 それらの補助金がまだ機能しているのは信じられないように思える。

If the earth moved, why didn't objects fly off it, including the water in the oceans? 英文解釈の質問です。この英文の後に、Explain underlined part in Japanese とあり［下線部はwhy this was soに引かれています］答えは、地球がじっとしていて動いていないと人々が信じていた理由、とありました。つまり下線部の前を答えにしているのですが、自分は下線部の後を答えにしていました。なぜ答えが下線部の前になるのか、もしお分かりなら教えていただけると嬉しいです。よろしくお願いします。

- 倒置でしょうか？英文解釈を教えてください。
以下の英文解釈が分かりません。 Among his discoveries was that if goslings lose their mother, they will accept a substitute. 私は初め、Amongが最初に来ているのでwas that と倒置が起きているのだと考えました（今もそんな気がしますが）。 しかし、if以下をthatが代表していることだと思うと平叙文に直せば that was among his discoveries if ....になりますのでthatがif以下を指しているととることが出来ないように思うのです。つまり、こうしたくなるのです。 It was among his discoveries that if....と。 もしかして、この文を倒置形にすると最初の文になるのでしょうか？ お詳しい方、アドバイスいただけると有難いです！ 宜しくお願い申し上げます。
