英語の和訳で質問があります。
There is some pedestrian on the sidewalk. と、 Some pedestrian is on the sidewalk. ではどう違ってくるのでしょう。 どなたかご教示頂けないでしょうか。 以上、よろしくお願いいたします。

まず、両方の文ともに pedestrian は複数が自然です。従って be 動詞は are にするべきでしょう。もし或る人という意味なら a certain pedestrian ということになるでしょう。さて、 前者はただありのままの事実を述べているのに対し、後者は通行人が他のどこでもなく、歩道にいるという事実を伝える意志が感じられる文章なのです。

趣味として英語を勉強中のものですが回答させてもらいます。 文から受けるイメージを、映画の一場面として表してみると、 ●There is some pedestrian on the sidewalk. まず、街が画面に現れる。カメラがズームイン（あるいは、パン）していくと、歩道に pedestrian がいる。 ●Some pedestrian is on the sidewalk. （画面が切り替わったとき）歩道に pedestrian がいる。 後者の場合、特に、その pedestrian は、単なる歩行者ではなく、ストーリー上、ある役割を果たしそうな感じがします。

Unfortunately, they turned out to be very bad. They work poorly. They translate Japanese very poorly and incorrectly. Think about 30 seconds. They constantly turn off. Wasted $ 160.
