We cannot have more of everything, so to get more of some things, we must give up other things. 私達は全てのもの以上を持つことは出来ません、なので、何かをもっと手に入れようとするならば他のものをあきらめなければなりません。(全訳になりましたが。。。） ●これは物を持つという容器が人に有った場合、それの容量は限られているので、すでに everything(全て） がある場合はそれ以上（あるいはそれを超えて）持つことが出来ないので更に何かを get しようとする場合は、その他のものをあきらめ（捨てる、あるいは押し出し式に外に出す）なければなりません。 という意見ですね。 もし、その入れ物が 脳 であれば 脳の容量は実は分かっていません。 かなりの容量があり、限界が分からない人もいるかもしれません。 その為、これはある人の個人的な意見とみたわけです。

頭の中にでも，財産としてでも，今持っているもののすべてが everything です。 そのすべてについて，今持っている以上のものを持つことなどできない。 というのが we cannot have more of everything です。 だから，いくつかのものについて今持っている以上のものを手に入れようと思えば， いくつかのことはあきらめなければならない。 今持っているもののいくつかは捨てなければならない。
