この英文おかしくないですか？
Our skin ,for example ,is home to "good bacteria " as well as " bad bacteria," and the "good"help us by fighting off the "bad." この英文は、bacteriaを複数形にし、helpを三人称単数のｓをつけるべきだと思うのですが、どうでしょうか？

Bacteria は bacterium の複数形です。 英語の名詞の複数形にはこの様にSを使わない複数形をとるものがたまにあります。Phenomenon--phenomena, index--indices, とか変形するものから、deer, sheep, moose の様に単数、複数とも同じものもあります。 ですので、ご質問の答えとしては、この文はおかしくありません。

medium の複数形が media であるように， bacterium の複数形が bacteria です。 media もそうですが，bacteria もこれで単数・複数両方用いることも多いです。 いずれにせよ，この bacteria は複数。 the rich で，rich people の意味で複数扱い。 この the good も good bacteria の代わりでしょうか。 もちろん，人ではないのですが，人的な働きを表しています。

解釈により変わるのではないでしょうか。 よい細菌 なのか よい細菌達 なのかで単数か複数か変わると思います。 日本語的にはどっちでもいいような気がします。 肌には良い細菌も悪い細菌もいる 肌には良い細菌達も悪い細菌達もいる

A=assembly and association B=speech, press and all other forms of expression そうすると、主語が「Freedom of A as well as B」という単数ですから、述語動詞は「is」であるはずなのに、なぜか「are」となっています。ということは、主語は単数ではなく複数なのでしょうか。どう解釈すれば複数になるのですか。 某所で質問したところ、 Freedom of A as well as （freedom of） B are guaranteed. と考えれば良いのではと教えて頂いたのですが、仮にこのように解釈したとしても、述語動詞の人称・数は「Freedom of A」に一致しますから、やはり「is」となるはずなのです。困りました。
