教えて下さい。
Actually,I still can not believe that you’ve sent to me a letter and want me to be close to you. 日本語にするとどうなるのでしょう？ 一つ一つの単語は解るのですが、一つの文章にならないのです。 細かく単語一つ一つ訳すから、一つの文章にならないのでしょうか？ それと“ｃｏｚ”という単語は「従兄」と訳すのでしょうか？ 他に意味はないですか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

補足のようなものです。 ＞andで区切り、wantの主語もやはりIです。 とありますが、want の主語は、you です。 主語が I だと、 I want me to be close to you というわけのわからない文になってしまいます。

内容的には お礼と友情の意味を込めた手紙の返事みたいですね。 thatは you’ve sent to me a letterという節を導いています。andで区切り、wantの主語もやはりIです。ｃｏｚはbecauseと同じ意味でくだけた表現で使われます。

「大学が彼に送った手紙持ってる？」といいたいのですが、どういったらいいのか分かりません。 do you have a letter from university that was sent to him? do you have a letter which university sent to him? これで通じるでしょうか？ また、他にもっと自然な表現があれば教えてください。

まとめてお礼。 みなさん丁寧な回答ありがとうございました。 私は昭和３０年代の生まれで、中学校で習ってきた英語は「Ｔｈｉｓ ｉｓ ａ ｐｅｎ．」でした。 その英語が全く役に立たなかったとは言いませんが、現実として英語の国の人と接した時、教科書との違いに驚きました。 特に「ｙｏｕ」を「ｕ」と略して書かれていたのにはオドロキでした。
