DVCに直接入れない、というような事が前の記事であったかと思いますが、しかし、
Regarding the Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates, we do accept it has equivalent to High School graduation.
So, if the student DOES have that they can apply　directly to DVC.
ということのようです。但し：
HOWEVER, the student also must submit either a TOEFL or IELTS
score to prove English proficiency.
If he does not meet our minimum requirements for English proficiency then he would have to consider
attending our intensive English program.

The minimum requirement is that you take 12 units every semester. But people usually take 14-17 units every semester. In my case, I took 94 units (inclduing untranferable courses) in 2.5 years (spring06-summer08). So it was something like this. Sp06: 16 units, Su06: 4 units, Fa06: 20 units, Sp 07: 15 units, Su 07: 7 units, Fa 07: 12 units, Sp 08: 14 units, Su08: 6 units.

Avoid history, literature, or any other classes that require you to do lots of reading and writing. In my English 126 class, for example, we had to read six books, write weekly journals, three essays, and do a group project. And my instructor was considered to be one of the easiest according to reviewum.com. Some instructors require eight ten-page essays while other instructor grades so harshly that more than half the students drop out by the midterm and such.

I highly recommend that you do take Math192/193 instead because UCLA requires them:

Math 192/193 are Calculus whereas Math182/183 are Applied Calculus. Of course 182/183 are easier than 192/193 but it shouldn't be a problem as much as to take English 122/123/126 for Berkeley. Berkeley almost NEVER ACCEPT anyone who hasn't satisfied their reading & composition requirements. To satisfy this requirement at DVC, you MUST take English 122, 123, and 126. Not to mention that to take Enlish 122, you must pass assessment test and most of people, including a good portion of American-born native English speakers, end up taking English 116 and 118 as well. In addition, it's really difficult for any non-native English speaker to an A in English 123 since it covers literature and poetry. Because grades in your last semester will NOT be used in your evaluation process, I STRONGLY recommend you to take English 123 in your last semester. You may also want to satisfy IGETC at DVC. ALL UCs accept their application in November prior to the year you're transfering. For example, if you want to transfer to Berkeley/UCLA in Fall 2011, you must fill up your UC application in November 2010. Also note that your anual expense at UC will exceed $40,000 (including tuitions and living costs), and international students cannot get any financial aids or scholarships in general. So make sure you're financially ready.

I can tell you about textbooks used in most of math. classes (Pre-Calculus, CalculusI/II/III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, etc...) but not about other classes.

Oh, I didn't realize this part. I did that too. In my case, I didn't even go to middle/high schools. I stopped going to school when I was in my fifth grade, and just got 高校卒業認 when I was 19 years old. I got A on every single subject except World History though. DVC accepted me so I got there in Spring 2006. I'm now 22 and transfered to Berkeley for Fall 2008. So I spent 2.5 years or five semesters in DVC. But it's actually pretty good for my major since my major has lots of requirements. Most of people in my major (EECS) spend 3 years in CC before transfering. e.g. I took 8 math classes, 4 physics classes, and 4 computer science classes.
