沖縄のシーサの事を英文で説明したいのですが・・
来週からワーホリでカナダに行くので、 お土産として沖縄のシーサーを持って行くことにしました。 そこで英語でシーサーの説明文を つけてプレゼントをしようと思ったのですが、 どうも私の英語力(中学生レベル)ではいまいちしっくりこないので、 今回質問してみました。 私なりに考えてみた英文を下に記しています。 表現が間違っていたり、文法的におかしかったりと、 なんでもいいのでチェックを宜しくお願いします。 宜しくお願いします。 ・これはシーサで魔よけです。 This is Seasar and a amulet. ・沖縄にあります。 There is Ssasar in OKINAWA. ・口の開いたシーサーがメスで、福を招き入れます。 The female opens a mouth and invite fortune. ・口を閉じたシーサーがオスで、あらゆる災難を家に入れません。 The male closes a mouth ???. ・建物の門や屋根、村落の高台などに据え付けられています。 There is Seasar on the gate and the roof of the building, the hill of the village. 以上です。 何か他に付け足した方がいいとか ありましたら教えて下さい。

This is a shisa, which is an amulet commonly found in Okinawa. 注：amuletとは多分、体に身につけるような小さい魔除けのことなので間違ってると思いますが、他に良い言葉が思い浮かばないので誰か他の人に任せます。 ＞・口の開いたシーサーがメスで、福を招き入れます。 ＞The female opens a mouth and invite fortune. The one (whose mouth is open/with the mouth opened) is a female which (is said to) bring good luck. 注：最初のかっこの中はどっちでも良いです。下の文でも同じなので自分でちょっと考えてみてください。二個目のかっこの中の意味は「と言われています」です。個人的には魔よけとか信じないので、自分が説明するとしたら絶対に書きますが、必要ないと思うか、信じてるなら書かなくても良いです。同じく下の文でも足したければどうぞ。 ＞・口を閉じたシーサーがオスで、あらゆる災難を家に入れません。 ＞The male closes a mouth ???. The one whose mouth is closed is a male which (wards off evil/protects the house from evil). 注：かっこの中のどっちでも良いです。 ＞・建物の門や屋根、村落の高台などに据え付けられています。 ＞There is Seasar on the gate and the roof of the building, the hill of the village. They're usually placed next to gates and on roofs of buildings, and also on top of hills. 注：日本語下手なので、「村落の高台」が何のことだか全く分かりません。見張り塔？高い建物？高い丘？さっぱりですのでuri22さんが書いたとおりhillにしておきました。

I drew a Shisa to express a quality of Okinawa. Why I made a Shisa a motif, this is because it is known as the guardian angel of the house and a talisman against evil for a long time in Okinawa. A custom to put in a roof or the entrance hall is now and is installed in many houses. 学校で空手部の説明をする英文を書いていて完成したのですがなんだかすごく幼稚な文章です。 もう少しかっこよくできませんか？ 適当な質問ですみません There are two main activities in the club that I belong to, the karate club. One of the two is called Kumite. Kumite is a simulation of real fighting. We put on helmets and guards when we do this. This offers us protection from punches and kicks. Unfortunately, even with guards we sometimes get injured. In that case, we treat ourselves using bandages and ice bags. Although one could occasionally get wounded, I personally like doing Kumite. The other activity we do is called Kata. Kata is a demonstration of moves in karate. We do the combined version of karate moves and techniques. It is harder than you think it is. Plus, it requires a lot of stamina. Nevertheless, I’m beginning to like Kata, for my teachers complimented me that I’m doing well. In conclusion, Kumite is like real combat, and Kata is a demonstration of moves in karate. They are two completely different things, but I like them both. 全部変えなくても一部だけでもいいです
