...and don't forget (as if you would!)that all the members are off the day on September 30.

as if = as though

(may sound as if you would forget) (it may sound as if you would forget) (may sound) or (it may sound)が省略されていると考えてみまませんか?

as if you wold forget

  • as long as,if only?

as long as がonly if に変えられるという参考文献は沢山あります。 <補足> ①so long as (=as long as) でさえあれば、する限り(if only) You may go out so long as you come back soon. (スーパーアンカー) ②as long as(条件)さえすれば(if only, provided) I don't care as long as you are happy. (ジーにアス英和) ③as long as(or so long as)(only the case if) The interior minister said he would still support them,as long as they didn't break the rules.. (コウビルド英英) ④as or so long as (if, provided that,on condition that) So long as it does not rain, we can have a picnic.ニューベリーハウスアメリカ英語辞典(英英) ⑤as long as (provided that) You can watch television as long as you have finished your homework. (ランダムハウス英英) ⑥as long as(=so long as) (provided that) 例文略(ラルース英英) ☆手元の英英を引く限り、only... ifもif onlyも定義に登場させていません(コウビルドがonly...if でしょうか)。 as long as をif onlyに書き換えることはタブーなのでしょうか?

  • as long asの使い方について

(質問) You must answer (as long as/ the moment) you are called.(桜美林大) 1. という風に考えて、as long as=if(?) You can borrow my car as long as you fill up the gas tank when you're finished. Any sport will do as long as it is interesting. You must answer as long as you are called.

If you go,I'll go. If you will go,I'll go.「君が行くつもり(行く[意思]があるなら)なら僕も行くよ」 willを強く読めば「どうしても行くと言うなら」という[固執]の意味になる。 If you would come this way,I'll take you to the restaurant.(=Please come this way.) But you can use "if ...would" when you ask somebody to do something:(from a formal letter) I would be grateful if you would let me know your decision as soon as possible. I would like some coffee.=If it wouldn't be a problem,I would like some coffee.

If I don't…

If I don't have my work tomorrow, I would come to the park. If I don't have my work tomorrow, I will come to the park. 2. If I were not busy, I would come to a party.

  • If there were no...

If there were no wind at all, the sea would slowly rise and fall again, because of the tides made by the moon ; but it would do this very quietly , so that if you just looked for a moment you would notice nothing. この英文のyou would notice nothingを、if you just... が無くても前のif there were...

  • just as clearly as if の解釈

It is often possible to make known what one wants and what he is thinking about by means of gestures, without the use of words, and it may be that men talked by signs before they used spoken language. There are many gestures which are still used to express ideas and which almost everybody understands. When one shakes his head on being asked a question we understand that he means "no," just as well as if he had spoken the word. Similarly if he nods in response to a question we understand that he means "yes." But besides these two simple forms of answering a question we may express a great many other ideas by signs. Putting the forefinger to the lips when someone is talking means "keep quiet" just as clearly as if these words were spoken aloud. Holding up both hands means "I surrender." Shrugging the shoulders and shaking the head often means "I don't know." When one shakes his head on being asked a question we understand that he means "no," just as well as if he had spoken the word. ですが、参考書の説明では、 as well as は「... When one shakes his head on being asked a question と if he had spoken the word の副詞節を比較していると書いてあります。 But besides these two simple forms of answering a question we may express a great many other ideas by signs. Putting the forefinger to the lips when someone is talking means "keep quiet" just as clearly as if these words were spoken aloud. についてですが、 参考書の説明では 「just as clearly as if these words were spoken aloud は、上の just as well as if he had spoken the word と同じ形。

  • "as many of you as"の文法的解説

次の英文例の中の"as many of you as"がわかりません。 For as many of you as were baptized into Chirist have put on Christ. 「as A as B」 は 「Bと同じくらいA」 ですよね。 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
