こんな動詞ありましたっけ？
長文の中の一文なので、すべて載せられませんが・・・ Many Americans,especially(but only not )American men,place more emphasis on their need for independence and less on their need for social support.でplace～からの文なんですが、強調してという動詞はemphasis on（辞書で見たら）なんですが、解説はplaceも含めてemphasis onだそうですが、辞書にも載ってないし、見たことがありません。解説は間違ってないと思いますが、見たこと無いので・・・わかる方、教えてください。

Gです。 こんにちは！！ place emphasis on～と言う表現でひとつのフィーリングを表しています。 つまり、emphasisを～の上にon置く(place)と言うことなのです。 熟語として覚えるか、この三つの単語のフィーリングを感じ取って覚えるか、私なら後者をとって身につけるほうが自然と感じます。 これでいかがでしょうか。 分かりにくい点がありましたら、補足質問してください。
